9AM & 11AM
"Gracious and Holy God, we pray for those who are tired and dusty from hard labor; for those whose backs are bent by care and worry; those laid low by illness or guilt or grief. Wash away, we pray, the tiredness of our bodies and souls. Hold gently in your healing hands the broken places in our lives and relationships. Be our company in isolation, our source of hope in despair, and the way forward at every impasse."
~ A Prayer from MCCDC's 2015 Holy Thursday Service
As Jesus prepared for the greatest trial of his life, he sought the companionship of friends. On the night he washed their feet and served them at table, they did not fully understand what was happening. Nor did they fully understand what was ahead. Nevertheless, they were present. They were present to each other and to Jesus.
We live on the other side of this story of Holy Week. Some of us have heard it many times. Yet is our understanding any deeper than the understanding of the first disciples? No matter how many times we've participated in the breaking of the bread and the lifting of the cup, there is more to understand.
There is more to experience.
There is more to receive.
There is more to share.
I invite you to join your church at MCCDC at 7 PM tonight for our Holy Thursday service. Plan also to join us for Good Friday. We are pleased to welcome Guest Musician Tyrone Stanley to both services. I look forward to seeing you at all our Holy Week Services at 7PM on Thursday and Friday, and at 9AM and 11AM on Easter Sunday.
Faithfully,
Rev. Dwayne

"These are the words of the Lord God:
Now I myself will ask after my sheep
and go in search for them. . .and rescue them,
no matter where they were scattered
in dark and cloudy days. . .
I will search for the lost,
recover the straggler,
bandage the hurt,
strengthen the sick,
leave the healthy and strong to play."

MINISTRY CONNECTIONS Opportunities to serve in ministry are plentiful. If you have a heart to serve and to be a part of something larger than yourself, please consider this your personal invitation to join in ministry. Where needed most: Children's Ministry - The Children's Ministry provides a fun and safe space for children to learn about spiritual values, while valuing each child's unique talents and abilities. Hospitality - God's hospitality extends welcome to the entire community, the Hospitality Ministry provides arms and feet to that welcome. The ministry is responsible for coordinating food and welcome during the social time. Information Station - These faithful folks coordinate the sharing of information about ministry activities, events and directions. They extend the hospitality of welcome to everyone who has questions or require assistance. Adult Sunday School - This is a brief yet powerful time to connect with scripture and each other. Participants meet on Sundays from 10:15 - 10:45. All are welcome. AV Ministry - This Ministry is responsible for the sights and sounds in worship and other services in the sanctuary. If you feel called to investigate learning and participating in providing audio and video support, please pray about connecting. Lessons in Letting Go: Forgiving Ourselves and Others
Please join local healing and therapeutic practitioner Elizabeth McCain for this four week series. Forgiveness can be a challenging process for us all, and is often misunderstood. In this experiential workshop, learn what true forgiveness for ourselves and others really means. Release old stories of regret, guilt, and resentment of the past, have compassion for yourself and others in the present, and embrace hope for the future. Through group sharing, meditation and prayer, journaling, and energy healing practices, experience the freedom of forgiveness and renewal in body, mind, and Spirit. Rev. Elizabeth McCain is an interfaith minister, grief counselor, spiritual mentor, energy healer, and professional storyteller in Takoma Park, Md. Whether ministering, counseling, or performing, she believes that sharing and reframing our personal stories heals hearts, creates community, and changes the world. Elizabeth specializes in helping the LGBTQ community and our allies live more meaningful and joyful lives. To learn more about her work, go to www.elizabethmccain.com.

MCCDC is revamping the Sanctuary sound system, a new audio board and new cameras so we can start to webcast our Sunday services to the community and the shut-in.
The cost of the project is $95,500. The Board has committed $41,152.66 to the project and we have raised $40,234.00 for a total of $81,386.66. We are $14,113.34 away from our goal. Help us make this happen.
