PASS IT ON-If you have a copy of the book "Pass It On-What We Know, What We Want You To Know", there will be a "group book signing" with many of the books contributors at the:

FIRE ENGINEERING BOOTH ON FRIDAY FROM 1100-1200, be sure to come by.

REMEMBER that because of you-we have raised well over
$30,000.00 so far for the NFFF and the Chief Ray Downey Scholarship Program.

===EIGHTH ANNUAL FDIC COURAGE AND VALOR FUN RUN
Location:  White River State Park
WHEN Thursday, April 23, 2015, 6:00 pm

The eighth annual FDIC Courage and Valor Fun Run will take place at the White River State Park located just a short walk from the Indianapolis Convention Center. The scenic, flat, fast course winds around the canal and provides runners with an absolutely safe (no traffic crossings) opportunity to enjoy a brisk fun run with their fellow firefighters. All proceeds go to help sponsor the Ray Downey Courage and Valor Medal and Award presented each year at FDIC. All are welcome to participate. Registration is $20.00 at the convention center Monday and Tuesday of FDIC (in Hoosier Hallway) or online at www.tuxbro.com and $25 on site at the race. All preregistered participants will receive T-shirts. 

 

 

===FDIC ANNUAL MEMORIAL STAIR CLIMB:

Location: Lucas Oil Stadium
WHEN: Friday, April 24, 2015, 1:30 pm-3:15 pm

Fire service members from across the United States are invited to participate in the FDIC 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb.  This is not a race but an opportunity to honor and remember the 343 FDNY members who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live.  For more information about the 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb, visit: www.9-11stairclimb.com or the Special Events booth in Hoosier Hallway at the show.

On duty as a member of FDNY Rescue Co. 1, FF John Walters was struck by a car and pinned between the cab and Rescue `1's apparatus. John suffered extremely serious injuries including the loss of one leg...his story is remarkable and one that will benefit every department-large or small. Presented by Chief/Firefighter (Ret.) John Walters III, Port Washington Fire Department/Fire Department of New York, Rescue Co. No. 1.

Students are taken step by step through the process of a major line-of-duty injury--before it occurs, while it is happening, and many years after the incident. They learn from members who have been through the experience what occurs and how they and their departments can be proactive in this area.
