Tribute to Peter Cohn

We are very saddened to announce the death of Peter Cohn, Action Centre Member and long serving Director (former Chairman) and former Director of the Action Centre Foundation, on Friday January 23, 2015.

" Peter ('Chairman' as I liked to call him) was the fabric of the Action Centre.  His passion for the Centre, its people and for the continuation of the Centre was unprecedented.  His life successes were many and these successes proved true in his ability to reach into his network, whenever needed, to support the Action Centre. I can't imagine a Centre without Peter, his support and care for the Centre and its members and for me personally, was greatly appreciated. I will miss the "Chairman" and my friend."  - Joanne Heward, Chair, Action Centre

"It is with a heavy heart that we say thank you and goodbye to Peter. For all of us associated with the Action Centre, he was and will remain the glue. He was the link between Members, staff, programs, donors and prospective fans of the Action Centre. He made us realize the importance of the Centre in all of our lives. More importantly, he understood the value of everyone's contribution to this wonderful community. Thank you, Peter for your leadership and inspiration on behalf of the entire Action Centre Foundation, family and supporters." - Andrew T. Pepper - Chair, Action Centre Foundation

"I offer my sincere sympathies to Peter's family, and to those of us who had the pleasure of knowing him. I was deeply saddened by the news of Peter's death and his passing is a big loss for me personally and for all our members. No words can express my sorrow. I will miss him deeply. Peter was a true advocate and supporter of the Action Centre." - Ilham Bouzouma, Action Centre Manager
Holiday Party to Remember

Rosa Bonavoglia with Santa
On December 17, 2014 the Action Centre celebrated its Annual Members' Holiday Party. This year's turnout was up with 83 members, and 12 staff and volunteers in attendance. Santa distributed the many donated-gifts to smiling Action Centre members. For many members, the Annual Holiday Party is akin to their 'family holiday meal' and they look forward to it for months. The Action Centre is grateful to IGA Becks, Moisson Montreal, Sami Fruits, Ben & Jerry's and many individual donors and volunteers who contributed to make Annual Holiday Party such a memorable occasion.
Every gift counts!
We are grateful to all donors who renewed their support in 2014

Over the last two years, The Action Centre Foundation experienced many changes in resources, volunteer leadership and fundraising activities. Last fall, the Foundation Board made a decision to employ the services of a Professional Fund Development Consultant to create a Development Strategy and Plan for the upcoming year. The fruits of implementing that Plan started to manifest at the end of 2014.

We are deeply grateful to all the donors who recognize the importance of the services offered by the Action Centre and who renewed their support for the Action Centre Foundation in 2014. We would like to recognize every donor for their contribution in our upcoming  Action Centre Foundation Activity Report. If you wish to remain anonymous or not have your gift recognized, please contact Trish Gardham (514-366-6868 x 224) at the Action Centre Foundation.
