Business, Labour & Community: Planning for Prosperity!

Powerful new video released by the Hamilton Immigrant Mentoring Partnership (HIMP) Program

himp logo HIMP, which has been funded by the Trillium Foundation for the past two years, has just released a video which clearly demonstrates the impact of mentoring on individuals and the local community.

HIMP partners with employment service providers, and individuals working in the industrial, government and corporate sectors to assist internationally trained professionals.

Mentoring is reciprocal. Mentors are able to cultivate cross-cultural communication skills and gain recognition as an employee willing to make a positive difference by sharing their skills and knowledge. They help mentees to access the hidden job market and get job leads, develop knowledge of workplace culture and get guidance in the job search process.
For more information on HIMP please contact Oliver Pryce at 905-521-5777 or by email: [email protected]
Employers: Sign up for McMaster University's Virtual Career Fair, May 20/15

McMaster University is hosting a virtual career fair on May 20th  at 1:00pm.

Employers can chat with prospective candidates, share information about current and future hiring needs, and continue to establish your brand on campus; all from your desktop or mobile device. And, there's another thing, it's absolutely free to participate.

Here's how it works:

* Participating organizations log into the virtual career fair platform (instructions will be provided).
* Profiles are set up and act as your 'virtual booth'. Your profile should include an organizational profile, company logo and job opportunities available (full time, co-op, internship, summer, and new grad).

On May 20, you simply login and chat (via text) with McMaster students and alumni. Throughout the chat, visual cues will be sent reminding employers how much time is left in the conversation and the number of candidates queued to chat.

Interested in registering for this free virtual event or have additional questions?
