Building Benefits Excellence: ACA Mandatory Reporting Requirements
Date: Thursday, April 9, 2015
Time: 8:30 - 10:00 a.m.
Location: PHRA Offices

Investment: $19

As a requirement of the ACA, employers with 50 or more full-time and full-time equivalent employees must begin tracking offers of coverage to their full-time employees. Further, employers that sponsor self-insured health plans of any size must begin tracking the actual coverage of employees, spouses, and dependents. In both cases, this tracking will occur on an employee-by-employee basis, and the information will be tracked for each month of the calendar year. Because the reporting must be done on a calendar year basis, employers must begin capturing the needed information as of January 1, 2015. The amount of detail required is daunting, and employers need to prepare now to implement processes and begin capturing data.

Vendor Spotlight

Vision Benefits of America (VBA) has been administering managed vision care benefit plans for 45 years, and today is one of the largest, most experienced networks of professional eye care providers in the country. Headquartered in Pittsburgh, VBA is a non-profit healthcare service organization, which falls under the auspice of both the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Pennsylvania Insurance Department.

VBA's network of participating providers includes more than 15,000 Optometrists, Ophthalmologists, and select Retail Opticals throughout all 50 states - 2,262 in Pennsylvania alone. VBA achieves significant cost savings by its participating doctors and its more than 260 full-service wholesale optical labs accepting less than typical wholesale fees as payment-in-full for their professional services and ophthalmic materials.

A standard VBA plan will include a fully-paid vision exam, first quality lenses, and a wide selection of fashion frames - more than 29,000 are fully covered! Also, VBA has added a one-year scratch protection plan on every spectacle lens obtained through their network, and just recently, has also begun covering blended "no-line" bifocals - all at no additional cost to their clients or their enrolled members.

To contact VBA, visit our website at www.visionbenefits.com. OR, contact Daniel Gissin at 1-412-881-4900, or 1-412-881-7319 (fax), or email Dan at [email protected]. You'll be glad you did!
