Cleopas' Perspective

Luke 24:13-35

It takes time to live into a new perspective. Our scripture for this weekend helps us see that sometimes Jesus can be right in front of us and we still do not recognize him. Jesus not only overcame death, but also our doubt and short-sightedness, for us to know we are loved. Celebrating Easter is valuable, but realizing that we are still in the midst of Easter is even more important. Easter is a way of living, a constant belief that Christ's love still exists and is among us. Where have you been blind to what God is doing? How would a new perspective help you see all that God is doing in our midst? It takes time, but God is patient and helps us gain a new perspective that can recognize Christ all around us.

On April 15, we plan to bring joy to our neighbors at the post office. Pastor Molly is looking for people to work one-hour shifts handing out water, stamps and smiles to those frantically trying to submit their tax returns. Email Pastor Molly to sign up!

April 25 (9am - 12pm)

Meet in the Family Life Center at 9 am to talk about what it means to be in mission with our neighbors, then join us for one of the following activities.

Internal: Are you great at organizing and packing boxes? Come help the staff who must move out for summer construction to pack up their offices!

External: Join us to serve brunch, make a wreath craft, and play games with the residents of Evergreen Senior Citizen Center.

Evangelism: We need cookie deliverers! We will stuff boxes of cookies to take to our business neighbors. If you want to lead a team, let Pastor Molly know!

West Campus: Deliver cookies to local businesses. Meet Pastor Daniel at Blue Cherry at 10am on April 25.

Support the School Kit Drive
Sponsored by United Methodist Women

In some countries, children do not have books or school
supplies. Many have no schoolrooms; classes are held in inadequate or half-destroyed buildings, tents, or even the open air. School kits may be these children's only educational resources. The United Methodist Committee on Relief is in great need or school kits, particularly for refugee children. Click here for a shopping list of supplies and return to the Welcome Desk by May 24.
Coffee with the Pastors

Sundays at 4pm in the Narthex/ Lobby. This casual time of fellowship provides an opportunity to get to know our pastors a bit better, learn about our ministries, ask questions and simply enjoy the time together. Coffee and light refreshments will be served and nursery care is available. Contact Pastor Meg for more information.
