Year Round

Saturday, April 25th is the last CSA Delivery and "Winter" Produce Delivery day!  (Quotations around winter because it feels like Spring is here to stay.)  We hope many of you were able to get out in your gardens and flower beds, and enjoy the Cherry Blossom Festivities over the weekend.

Yes, yes, we will be wrapping up our Winter CSA and Winter Produce Delivery with the last delivery on April 25th.  This was our fourth CSA season and our third Winter Produce Delivery program (formerly known as the "Monthly Apple Delivery).  It's been a great winter season, and we look forward to continuing the programs next year.  If you'd like to give us any feedback, please complete a survey so we can consider your input when making plans for the future.

Crystal City launched their market season last Tuesday.  And our newest market, Fairlington Farmers Market, will be commencing on Sunday, April 19th.

We'll see you at Market!

A La Carte Webstore

Place your produce order for delivery on Saturday, April 25th.  Webstore orders need to be in by midnight, Wednesday, April 22nd.  You can Mix & Match apple varieties in half bushel boxes.  Available varieties:  GoldRush, Fuji, Pink Lady, York, Braeburn and Granny Smith.  We also have 5 pound bags available if you prefer smaller quantities.  Our Asian Pears are succulent and sweet.

We have eggs and meat available from Weikert's Egg Farm and milk available from Apple Valley Creamery.

Place your order today!

If you haven't placed a webstore order, it is super easy to set up an account.  If you prefer to pay at pick-up, simply select the "check" payment option.

If you are a Winter CSA Member, or you purchased fruit and veggies from the A La Carte Webstore, please take a moment to complete this survey.

Asparagus Crowns
Asparagus is a spring-time veggie that is craved by many.  We currently have two plantings of asparagus.  The oldest is 25 years old, and unfortunately the production is starting to dwindle.  Harvesting the same block of asparagus for 25 year, is pretty impressive though!

Last week we received Asparagus Crowns and are planting them, hopefully, later this week.  We will be planting 4,000 crowns of green asparagus and 4,000 crowns of Purple Passion asparagus.  We need to leave the newly planted asparagus be for a few years so they become well established and healthy plants; so keep your eyes out for some purple asparagus in the next few years.

What Else is Going on this Spring?
We've already planted some shallots and leeks and as mentioned earlier, we have 8,000 asparagus crowns to plant which will be about one acre.

Each spring we like to divide and replant our healthiest rhubarb crowns, to gradually increase our rhubarb production.

We have a decent amount of trees to plant:  Fuji, Stayman and Honeycrisp are going in the ground.  Along with some White Nectarines.  We also have some more nut trees to plant.

Stay tuned on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages and our You Tube channel to see what's going on at the farm.
We look forward to seeing you at the Farmers Market!
