GWL Retreat:  16 Stand Confessing Faith in Jesus

Made Much of Jesus in January      

God opened the doors wide in January to preach Jesus and encourage believers.  Mike returned to Open Door Christian Academy, in Troutdale, OR, to preach their chapel service, sharing a current message called Rough Water.  Students were reminded that courage in the midst of storms rises out of the simple yet profound truth that Jesus is there with us-Jesus said, "Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid." (Mt. 14:27)  

This message was shared again at Wenatchee Valley Baptist Church, in Washington, the day after Mike met with the executive board of Coulee Baptist Association (CBA). At the meeting, they discussed ministry possibilities to teens, youth workers, youth parents, and men in in the CBA in coming months.  

At the end of January, Mike and his family joined several churches from the Snoqualmie, WA area for ministry to teens. 310 teens and leaders gathered at Great Wolf Lodge. Over the course of three days and four sessions followed by open small group discussion, students heard the Gospel and entered into authentic evangelistic conversation. By Sunday morning 16 students stood confessing publicly their new faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Discussions with students have continued in the weeks following the retreat. Curtis Lily of Lifepointe Church reported, "The Lord has been drawing our kids to Himself and He used the GWL weekend in a mighty way. One sophomore boy is starting a group to reach out to his friends. A group of senior guys are starting accountability this Saturday." Thank for your prayers for these events!
