Town Center Lantern District Street Improvement Project PHASE 2A Construction Alert / Look-Ahead Schedule
A message from the City of Dana Point
As you can see out there, things are starting to come together. We still have a lot of work to do, however, so prepare yourselves. The most significant work is our final street repair and overlay work scheduled to occur primarily during the week of August 24th, although some of that work will start sooner.

Upcoming construction will take place at the following locations between August 17, 2015 and September 4, 2015. Weather or unforeseen issues may impact the schedule at any time. Please also see map above
A) DEL PRADO FROM RUBY LANTERN TO GOLDEN LANTERN (BOTH SIDES AND MEDIANS) - Parkway and median improvements continue during this period on both sides of Del Prado. 
B) LANTERN DISTRICT ARCHWAY - Remaining architectural elements, stucco, etc. will be constructed this period and next. 
C) INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS AT GOLDEN LANTERN/DEL PRADO - Traffic signal modification work, street improvements, and median modification work to allow for conversion to two-way traffic will continue at this intersection and along Golden Lantern. 
D) PCH BANNER POLES - The concrete banner poles on PCH between Del Prado and Ruby Lantern will be installed during this period. They are already on site being staged on Del Prado near Ruby Lantern.
E) ASPHALT REPAIRS/FINAL PAVING - Asphalt repair work and placement of finish asphalt will begin along the entire Project area (see map), including Golden Lantern, during this period, and will generally be completed this month. 
F) INTERSECTION CROSSWALK PAVERS - Once finish paving is complete, brick paver crosswalk installation will begin at the following intersections: Del Prado/Ruby, Del Prado/Amber, Del Prado/Violet and Del Prado/Old Golden Lantern. The brick pavers will match the installed pavers in the medians on Del Prado. This three to four week work effort is anticipated in September. 
G) RETURN TO TWO WAY DIRECTION - This work is estimated to occur in late September following the crosswalk paver work and is our final major construction impact.

This second phase will complete Del Prado Street from Ruby Lantern to Copper Lantern. This will help create the pedestrian friendly, mixed use environment for shopping, dining, and socializing envisioned in the Town Center Plan. The Project is a result of years of planning and coordination between South Coast Water District (SCWD) and numerous members of our residential and business communities who worked collaboratively to create the Downtown vision.

Ocean Institute Million Dollar Home Raffle
Early Bird Deadline is TONIGHT!
This is just a friendly reminder that the Ocean Institute's Laguna Beach Million Dollar Home Raffle early bird deadline is tonight at 12:00 midnight.  If you were thinking about supporting the Institute by  purchasing a ticket this is the optimum time.  There are extra chances for prizes for people who purchase by tonight and if you buy two you will also be entered in the multi-ticket drawing.  

The grand prize is $1 million or a Laguna Beach home. Single ticket buyers qualify for a chance at winning the grand prize and a share of $80,000 worth of bonus prizes. Buy two tickets and have a chance at the grand prize and $190,000 in bonus prizes. A maximum of 20,000 tickets will be sold. Proceeds benefit educational programs at the  Ocean Institute.

The grand prize drawing will be held, Saturday, November 14 at the Ocean Institute,

The bar will be staffed by Chamber Staff, Ambassadors and Board Members :) Dessert will be provided by the Dana Point Historical Society.
