President's Message
|
|
|
Sharon Mitchell
|
As August arrives, we savor the last month of summer, and "pack in" favorite summer-time activities. Calendars fill up with bike rides and swims, ball games, picnics, and back-to-school preparations. It's a time of shifting gears, as end-of-summer activities begin overlapping with fall season preparations. At Impact 100, August is also a time of transitions and celebrations. We celebrate the major milestones achieved by previous grant recipients as we prepare to award transformational grants to FOUR new recipients. Last year's grant recipients - Literacy Network, Price Hill Will/ MY Cincinnati and Community Matters - have each begun to put their grant money into action, and are leveraging their grants to have an IMPACT on the community. This year, we are very fortunate to have seven wonderful Finalists - all proposing very strong, transformational projects that could have a huge positive IMPACT on the Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky community. And for the first time ever, we will be able to award grants to FOUR of these Finalists! I encourage you to check out the Finalists and learn more about the projects they are proposing. The Executive Summaries of the Finalists are posted in the "Members Only" section of our Web-Site, and members have received a password to access this confidential information. We sincerely hope you can join us for the Annual Awards Celebration (AAC) on September 15th. This event is the culmination of the Impact 100 year - the opportunity for you to hear from the Finalists, cast your vote, network and enjoy other Impact 100 members, enjoy a delicious dinner, and see which organizations receive our 2015 Grant Awards. This is also a wonderful opportunity to invite your friends and colleagues who are interested in learning more about Impact 100 and potentially becoming new members. If you aren't able to join us in person, we hope that you take the opportunity to cast your vote via absentee ballot (it's very easy). We want ALL our members to vote. We also hope that you are enjoying your Impact 100 experience, and that you choose to continue your membership. Please take a moment and renew your membership in the very near future. We'd love to count on you for next year. Please remember to register for the Annual Awards Celebration, and invite your friends today!! Recall that our goal for 2016 is to give FIVE Grants - so we can "THRIVE with FIVE".
Please help "Spread the Joy. Spread the Impact."
Warm Regards, Sharon Mitchell Impact 100 President |

Women's Collective Giving Grantmaking Conference
|
|
We would like to invite ALL of our Impact 100 members to join us at the upcoming WCGN Conference National Leadership Forum in Charlotte, October 15-17, 2015.
The conference theme is
Doing, Being, Leading
- and there is a GREAT lineup for keynote - Darla Moore, Founders Panel, and others. The main focus, of course, is sharing best practices amongst all of the women's collective giving groups, and there are many! Meet and be inspired by other like minded philanthropic women who are collectively giving to make a difference in their community.
Did you know there are 14 Impact Groups (some have Impact 100, some don't in their names, but all are based off the same model), in WCGN? WCGN members are almost 10,000 members strong, donating over $70 million back into our communities! Now, that's something for which we can all be proud!
WCGN's Mission:
We support the creation, development, and
expansion of women's collective giving nationwide to build women's leadership and amplify the power of giving together.
WCGN's Vision:
- WCGN leads and mobilizes the Women's Collective Giving Grantmaking movement.
- We are a recognized national authority in women's philanthropic leadership.
- We inspire generations of women to be catalysts for community transformation.
TOGETHER, we can do more than we can apart! For more information - please contact Jenny Berg at jaberg4@gmail.com or 513-607-1820.

Cindy Cosway
Impact 100 Member
Who I am?
I'm a Cincinnati transplant, happily married with a daughter in college. Currently, I am enjoying my new role as a CSR and Underwriting Assistant with Specialty Underwriters Group. My favorite place is at home, on our porch overlooking the woods and river.
What got you involved in Impact 100?
I was introduced to Impact 100 through my job as the Administrator when I worked at Association Connection. This introduced me to the organization, it's members and Board Members. And I was instantly in awe of the work we do and the fabulous women that make it happen.
What keeps you a member?
I really feel good knowing the grants are given to local non-profit organizations. To be able to readily see how the grants have positively impacted our community is so rewarding. The best part is having an active vote in which Finalists will be awarded the grants. The second best part is meeting new people and getting to know those in my adopted city.
