Winning Grant Proposals

The Rutgers Writing Program and
Department of English will host a Master Class led by Alfred Tallia, professor and chair of family medicine and community health, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. A Rutgers Master Educator, Tallia will address "Successful Science and Technical Writing, Effective Research and Winning Grant Proposals."  The class will be March 12 at 4 p.m. in the Plangere Writing Center In New Brunswick. Business Portal Re-Launched

The Business Portal , which is a website created for industry and others interested in Rutgers' research expertise, capabilities and facilities, was re-launched last month. Designed in consultation with business professionals, the site was developed by teams with the Office of Research and Economic Development and a higher education marketing firm. A k ey feature of the Business Portal is Scholar Universe�, which allows external users to search a database of Rutgers faculty and their research publications. R utgers faculty also can use it to search for expertise among their colleagues . Read more here .

The First Annual Rutgers iJOBS Symposium

The first annual symposium of the iJOBS program (Interdisciplinary Job Opportunities for Biomedical Scientists) is set for April 20. It will bring together the program's extended team, trainees and supporters to network with regional experts and learn about successful pursuit of biomedical and life sciences careers. The symposium will be held in the Busch Student Center and marks the start of BioNJ's Life Sciences Industry Week. It will begin with a speech by Abraham Abuchowski, Ph.D., Rutgers alumnus and founder of Enzon Inc. and Prolong Pharmaceuticals Inc. Students, post-docs and faculty can submit questions and suggest topics for Dr. Abuchowski by March 26 here. Register for the event and reserve a spot for lunch at the iJOBS Symposium website.

Busch Biomedical Grant Program 

The Office of Research and Economic Development is pleased to announce the 2015 Busch Biomedical Grant Program. At least $400,000 is expected to be available this year. The program is open to full-time faculty members in Camden, Newark and New Brunswick. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. March 20. More here.

Have a Solution to Help Deliver Health Care? Winning Team to Receive $50,000 Grant

Over the next few weeks, Rutgers students, faculty and staff will be able to form interdisciplinary teams and develop innovative technology or service model solution that have the potential to impact health outcomes and costs. The Challenge is open to all members of the Rutgers community. One winner will be selected to win the $50,000 in funding from The Nicholson Foundation for use in implementing their project in the Pilot portion of the competition.
