Run and Walk for Women

Women's Centre runners and walkers have raised over $6,000 for our Basic Needs program through the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon's Charity Challenge.

Help us reach our goal by making a donation directly to our team page or by signing up to join our team! We have ten prizes for the top five fundraisers and bi-weekly running clinics for women and men.
Run and Walk day is on May 31st. With just under one more month to reach out goal, we need your support.

One year in to a fresh start

It turns out you can celebrate a birthday for a building! Our Annual General Meeting this past Wednesday doubled as a celebration for our first year in this beautiful new space on 4th Street. Over 100 guests attended and enjoyed snacks and entertainment after voting on business for the upcoming year.

We also released our Annual Report  which is full of stories, thanks and statistics on our first few months in the new Women's Centre.
Thank you to everyone who attended and a special thanks to Elizabeth Christensen for putting on a great performance. Click here to see photos of the celebration.
Volunteer Ushers Needed

Football season is on the horizon!

Ushering at Stampeders' football games is a major fundraising event for the Women's Centre. For each game, we need between 36-40 women and men to sign up for 4-5 hours of volunteering. You get to enjoy the outdoors, watch a great game, and support women in your community all at the same time.
To sign up or for more information, contact Filsan at (403)264-1155 or [email protected]. For the full schedule of games, check out our blog here.
A Different Kind of Mother's Day

This Mother's Day, consider giving a different kind of gift.
In 2014, nearly one-third of all women who visited the Women's Centre were single mothers. Every day, we hear stories from women who are working hard to support themselves and their families.
Make a donation in honour of an important woman in your life and they will be recognized in our Annual Report, and a special spot in our online Living Quilt.
