Good Tuesday,
Welcome to the third week in OctoberFrost is now a regular occurrence and we're starting to think about our Christmas shopping... We are aren't we?
With last week firmly in the rear view mirror, we can reflect upon the message of this past Lord's day. How healthy is our church?  Are there any symptoms that concern you? What does Jesus think about our own level of love and commitment for the institution that cost Him his life?  While the institution itself is not in danger of collapsing, it is at risk for losing effectiveness at a very critical time in our history. With that in mind, we will conclude the series this Sunday with what I hope is a refreshing challenge.

The Lord's Day to come: What Does Jesus say about Himself? In the end, what does Jesus want us to know about Himself?

AWANA NOW MEETS ON SUNDAY NIGHTS
Awana welcome logo
Our AWANA Bible Club is now meeting on Sunday evenings at 5:15-7:00 pm.  This past week I challenged our middle school Trekkers (is that a real word?), to keep memorizing the key verses for each week's lesson and offered them an opportunity to earn McDonalds Gift certificates if they can recite all the verses provided cumulatively on any given week. If biblical discipline is forged in the crucible of training, what great potential awaits us if we will only study to show ourselves approved and hold God's word close to our hearts? Let's get serious about what this club ministry is... This is not kiddy club, nor training that we outgrow. Godly character must be intentionally pressed into the lives of our youth if we have any hope of seeing it blossom in the adult years.
Our next Sunday supper: 1st Sunday in December: 4:30 pm
What's Brewing this week in the Cafe?

It's mission night in the Cafe!
Tonight we'll hear from a new friend, Ed Weber who is pursuing an exciting vision for Thailand through ABWE (Association of Baptists for World Evangelism) To quote someone famous... "Come and See" See you at 5:30 pm

We'll return to our regularly scheduled program next week. Revelation

FROM THE TEXT--
"The teaching of the New Testament is that God and Spiritual things can be know finally only by a direct work of God within the soul. However theological knowledge may be aided by figures and analogies, the pure understanding of God must be by personal spiritual awareness." pg.89.

Prayer... as necessary as air itself
The Marks of a healthy church!  Is our CHURCH healthy? That is the question I posed last Sunday? How did you answer that? Prayer success should interest us. You have multiple opportunities to make a difference:
Sunday: just before AWANA: 4:45
Wednesday 7:50 pm
My son shared with me tonight that he has been convicted to go beyond we he has been giving over the last few years.  His prayer, a desire to unleash great faith in the lives of his family. To that end, I have provided a guide for the "beefing up" of our Christian walk with God. I thought I would include the same form I left behind last week.  Click here for the attachment.
