Western Maryland AHEC was 1 of 10 selected out of nearly 500 applicants for funding consideration from the American Honda Foundation (AHF). After an intensive proposal process, AHF decided to grant ECHO a total of $37,500. The Ted A. Wolfe Foundation has contributed an additional $5,000 and CSX Beyond Our Rails has contributed an additional $1,000 for a total of $43,500 funding toward ECHO.

The ECHO program costs approximately $1,000 per student, per week. Additional funding will allow for a total of 100 high school students to participate in the ECHO program over four weeks in the summer of 2015. The funds will help cover the cost of room and board, personnel, travel, programmatic materials and supplies, and resident assistant fees.
