Drug Take Back Day This Saturday!

On Saturday, April 11 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the Howard County Police Department and HC DrugFree are once again partnering to collect unwanted or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications. HCPD and HC DrugFree urge everyone to properly dispose of medications because two-thirds of teens who abuse prescription drugs are getting them from home, friends, or family. Please do not flush meds into the water system! Instead, clean out your medicine cabinets and bring your over-the-counter and prescription meds to one of 9 convenient collection sites throughout Howard County. Click here for the list of collection sites (click here for a Spanish version) or visit www.hcdrugfree.org/drug-take-back-day/

HC DrugFree's office at the Wilde Lake Village Center will be the only location that will accept needles, syringes and EpiPens.

If you want to volunteer to help out, and have some fun, HC DrugFree is giving away free "Mind Your Meds" t-shirts to the first 20 people who volunteer from 10 AM to 2 PM at HC DrugFree's office in the Wilde Lake Village Center on Saturday. See you there!

And a special thank you to our sponsor, Brian Meshkin at Proove Biosciences, Inc. for providing our t-shirts.

Parents: Thinking of Hosting an After-Prom Party?

While you can anticipate the cost of providing food and drink, click here to see how providing alcohol to minors or allowing underage consumption of alcohol can cost a lot more...and it's illegal!
