Scoutmaster Minute 

Are YOU the next Senior Patrol Leader? Do you have an interest in being on staff next year? If so, please see Mr White for requirements and expectations. Resumes are being collected now. 

 

FCE Scouts   

Mr. Harris will teach a class on "Your constitutional rights and obligations as a citizen", First Class requirement 5.  We do not give this class very many times during the year, so please try to attend.

 

If you have not turned in the FCE to Regular Patrol form, this is your last chance.

 

New Scout Parent Meeting -  Save the Date

On April 29, 2015, all parents of new Scouts are invited to meet with Mr. White and several other Adult Leaders to learn about Troop 599.  

 

We will discuss how to help your son enjoy the Troop, how to help him advance in in Boy Scouts and ways that parents can work to make T599 a great Troop.

Personal Fitness Merit Badge

The next physical fitness measurement test of 2015 will be Sunday, March 1 at 5:00 at Westchester's High School Track. 

 

 

Service Hours at the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary - Saturday, February 28

 

There is a ELMNS conservation workday on Saturday, February 28 from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary next to the MDUMC Church on Memorial Drive.   Wear shoes that can get muddy (No flip flops or crocs).  All scouts/family members are welcome to help and earn service hours.   If you are coming, please email [email protected] by the Wednesday, February  25

SKI TRIP:

If you are going on the SKI TRIP over Spring Break please get all of your forms and MONEY turned in as soon as possible.  See Mr. Beebe if you have any questions.


 

PHILMONT 2015:

All participants for the 2015 Philmont expeditions, we have started our training.  Training hikes are occurring almost every weekend on Saturday morning (7:30 am - 9:30 am) and Sunday afternoon (4:00 pm - 6:00 pm) from the Terry Hershey North Parking lot off of Memorial just west of Eldridge.  Please also get caught up with your fee payments as we have started to make (pay for) the final arrangements.

At the last OA meeting we had a lot of fun. The meeting agenda included planing for upcoming events and activities for the next few months. Try to attend the next meeting. The next meeting will include a appearance from the local fire apartment. Please try to attended thanks  Zach Tittle.

Patrol Advisers
As a reminder, each patrol has an adult mentor who has volunteered to advise the scouts of that patrol in various matters such as preparation for camp outs and rank advancement, and execution of their duties in their POR in some circumstances.
