Dear Members and Friends of Our Savior's Lutheran~
One doesn't have to look too long around Our Savior's Lutheran Church before they begin to recognize Jesus.
Last Sunday was no exception. We were blessed to welcome 25 new members into our Community of Faith and to witness the first communion of 17 of our young people. Jesus was truly alive and well as we worshiped and celebrated with one another in the breaking of the bread.
In our gospel lesson for this coming Sunday, (Luke 24:36b-48) we hear again the story of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus. They are forlorn and grieving as they mourn the loss of their dear friend and Savior, Jesus. Unrecognizable, Jesus appears on the road beside them and walks and talks with them. They don't recognize him ... until Jesus sits with them and breaks bread with them. In that moment, his majesty and his identity as their Lord and Savior is revealed and they recognize Jesus.
Each time we gather at Our Savior's, be it for worship and praise or for a book study or bible study, Jesus is revealed among us.
I hope and pray that you have seen Jesus at Our Savior's. If not, open your eyes and your ears to what is happening around you, and I can guarantee, you will feel and recognize Jesus.
Jesus is walking ahead of us at Our Savior's, as well. Larry Puckett, from our Church Board, announced last Sunday that there will be a schedule change to our Sunday morning worship services starting on Rally Sunday, September 13. Our 9:30 a.m. service will be moved to 10:30 a.m., allowing families the opportunity to worship together if they wish to and to have a designated hour in between services for faith formation for all ages, including adults. Our expectation is that Jesus is sure to be revealed in this change as we see more children in worship and families worshiping together.
This Sunday Jesus shows up again! We have two baptisms, holy communion and our 2 year-old FaithMarker. You won't want to miss him!

OSLC Shirts For Sale!
This is a great opportunity to let others know about our church! The order sign up is in the gathering area and checks can be given to the office or to Darla Goble, made out to OSLC. Darla also has sample shirts so you can try them on for size. The deadline is May 3rd.
Sizes come in:
6, 12, 18 & 24 Months- $10.00
Toddler sizes 2, 3, 4 & 5/6-$10.75
Youth sizes small or 6/8, medium 10/12, or large size 14/16- $10.75
Come Hear the Preschool Friends Sing!
Our preschoolers will be singing during the 9:30 church service on April 26 and May 17. On April 26th children will have Faith Formation and join the service to sing, and then go back to their classrooms for pick up. On May 17th we will be on our summer schedule. It is Teacher Appreciation Day, so we hope all of our teachers and preschoolers will be there! Preschoolers will be called up front when it is time to sing.
The Two-Year-Old Family FaithMarker
The Two-Year-Old Family FaithMarker, "God's Story In My Life" is designed to honor and build on the fact that 2-year-old children love to have stories read to them. This passion for reading will help bring to life the stories in the SPARK Story Bible, which you will receive and explore at the Family FaithMarker.

Location: Room 4/Purple Room
NOTE: We will begin our time together in the classroom and end in worship for a FaithMarker Blessing at the end of the service.

Rose Floral Punch Cards
National Youth Gathering participants will be selling Rose Floral punch cards at Wednesday and Sunday services. All proceeds will be going towards their trip in July. The cards are $20 and you will receive one bouquet of flowers a month for a year.
Shares Fundraiser - This Wednesday and Sunday!
The 2015 High School National Youth Gathering team here at Our Savior's Lutheran Church is looking for investors to purchase shares for our trip to Detroit in July. The shares are available at the low price of $30 each. The money donated will go directly towards sending 19 students and 4 adults to Detroit to serve the people there. The ELCA National Youth Gathering will give our students the opportunity along with 30,000 other students to experience Christ through worship, fellowship and service. This is truly an amazing opportunity for our students and will most certainly provide them with the chance to grow in their faith, their relationships with peers, and with the church as a whole. We hope that you prayerfully consider donating to our trip.
