I have seen March 2nd over and over again.

The question is will we make it to that or will the whole house of cards fall , the HCL is key it, when we can finally see that in its whole we will be in the money shortly after.

There are many financial and geopolitical events all coming together, culminating or beginning within the next couple of weeks. The two most notable are what will happen in Greece and Ukraine.

There have also been many other clues pointing to some sort of event coming to pass. In southern drawl, you might say "somethin's fixin' to break".

We have previously covered Greece and how it's exit or default could affect Europe, the West, derivatives and ultimately the global financial system. We have also looked at Ukraine and the potential geopolitical/military ramifications involved.

As of now, the Greeks have not yielded to taking on more debt and the cease fire in Ukraine never even took hold. What I want to look at today are two seemingly unimportant and entirely disconnected events that may turn out to be of utmost importance AND very connected.

The replacement for the near-century-old London gold fix will start in March, with the hope of attracting at least 11 members, including Chinese banks for the first time.

UK financial authorities are undertaking an assessment of financial benchmarks in the wake of a series of scandals, including over the gold fix.

The presence of Chinese banks would give the world's second-largest consumer of the precious metal a greater say in the global gold price.

Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi recently received in his office the director of the World Bank in the Middle East and North Africa, Mr. Farid Belhaj, and the Special Representative of the World Bank Mission in Iraq, Mr. Robert Bu Jodah.

The meeting discussed the challenges of Iraq's economy caused by the global drop of oil prices in addition to reorganizing the economy in Iraq, the government support to private sector,

and turning the challenges of Iraq into opportunities for real reforms besides following up the results of the meeting between PM Dr. Al-Abadi and Director of the World Bank on the margin of Davos Forum last month.

Tlar       Can someone please post the 2008 strategic study here. This is the plan that Iraq is following IMO. It sets forth the guidelines with which both Shabibi's CBI, Turki's CBI and what I believe Keywords is operating under. A roadmap worth revisiting.

It would be a good review for newer folks as well as a good discussion point to take apart. Also could we post Dr. Bakri and his educating Iraqi's in symposiums and at Universities while he worked for the CBI.

In his training he discusses the before and after exchange rate change that is coming.

These two articles together would help explain the guts of the program as to how it affects the people of Iraq and the dinar providing us with a better nderstanding of what's happening today and where they are going. Well worth revisiting these discussions. Thanks in advance to whoever re-posts these articles. tlar

tlar Blue thank you. It is my belief that the plan has not changed at all with the one exception that the rate is adjusted since 2008 to refect the economic reality of today. Now if we can also add Dr. Bakri's article of his explanation of how the new rate will affect the average Iraqi citizen.

That will be most interesting since it follows the strategic plan. Dr. Bakri was hired by the CBI to explain this process to Iraqi's and educate them on the change to come. Thanks again Blue. tlar

How you Makin it .................

First Off I won the Nigerian Lottery so I am set as it is....... Again No one has cashed in. There are no #800 numbers no groups that you have to get in....... Let me say where we are at this time..........

The pressure that was suppose to come in the 1st of February is just now getting there.

1st pressure point is the budget passed and being posted in the gazette... (this also inacted the tariff laws article 33 which was in the budget.

They need a weighted currency that is international to use the tariffs... every time they were going to start the tariffs they just moved them...

well the budget being passed prevents iraq from moving the date... it still has not set the date.
