A Blizzard Warning is in effect for New York City for Monday, Jan. 26, at 1 PM, through through Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 12 AM.

The National Weather Service forecast gusts of wind up to 50 miles per hour and snow accumulation of 18-24 inches.

Mayor Bill de Blasio urges people to stay indoors to avoid powerful winds, low visibility and treacherous road conditions.

The Governor earlier today outlined State resources that are being stationed throughout the region, including National Guard assistance and snowplows being strategically shifted to prepare a response. 

The NYC Department of Sanitation has issued a Snow Alert, and is coordinating with the Office of Emergency Management and with the NYC Department of Transportation on snow clearing protocol.

Alternate Side Parking has been suspended for Monday, January 26th and Tuesday, January 27th.

Schools are open today for the regular school day, and Regents exams will be administered as scheduled. After-school programs, PSAL, evening adult education programs, and school field trips are cancelled today. For up to date information regarding closings, please call 311 or sign up for Notify NYC.

The HOPE 2015 Survey scheduled for Monday is postponed.
