Did you know that libraries are for making?!
Teen Tech Week is March 8-14 and this year it's all about making stuff. Sponsored by Young Adult Library Services Association, Teen Tech Week is an annual event where public libraries showcase what they offer to help teens succeed - from fun to educational resources.
Teen librarian Lisa is hosting two tech-based drop-in programs next week where teens can make something cool and get to know the library better. Whether you're a self-identified geek or just want to experiment with circuits and building, come check it out!

A monthly update from the Friends of Shorewood Public Library
March promises to be one of the busiest months of the year for the Friends of the Shorewood Library as we prepare for April's Shorewood Reads program featuring Shotgun Lovesongs by Wisconsin author Nickolas Butler.
-
The Friends and the Shorewood Foundation have been major financial sponsors for Shorewood Reads 2015. We have been collaborating with the library, Shorewood High School, Boswell Books, Red Oak Writing, and several local businesses. We are in the final stages of planning the events and look forward to an awesome week of reading, music, community, and fun! For more information, check out the Shorewood Reads website.
- In response to the overwhelming popularity of the Lucky Day Collection of popular books, the Friends gave a $1,000 additional grant to the library for new purchases. If it is your LUCKY DAY, you might find new titles such as Redeployment by Phil Klay, The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, Deep Down Dark by Hector Tobar or Alan Turing: The Enigma by Andrew Hodges. Stop by the library and check out what is on the shelf!
- Coming soon: Shorewood Library magnets! When you need to know the library hours, phone number, web address, or the Friends' email address, these magnets will be there for you on your fridge or other magnetic surface. Sponsored by the Friends, magnets will be available free of charge at the check-out desk.
