TRAD TRIVIA
Take Me Home, Clopper Road?!
On March 7, 2014,  Take Me Home, Country Roads  became the official song of the State of West Virginia. Ironically, the song  was inspired by the scenery of Montgomery County, Maryland, not West Virginia. Bill Danoff, who wrote "Country Roads" with his wife Taffy Nivert and John Denver, revealed that the inspiration for the song was a drive down Clopper Road.  Clopper Road was "almost heaven in 1971 when the song was released, but now it's the heart of gridlock.
