To share some background, the mission of Dragon Boat Charleston (DBC) is to promote the mental and physical wellness of cancer survivors through the sport of dragon boating.    DBC believes that the sport affords those diagnosed with cancer an opportunity to reclaim their sense of self, feel strong, set long term goals and push the restart button on their lives.   Through fundraising efforts, all cancer survivors participate in this life-changing program free of charge.   The money raised for the Charleston event helps survivors here locally.

Connecting with Residents Online
In a world of adding Facebook friends that are practically strangers, texting others from the next room and being quicker to live-tweet an event than enjoy it firsthand, it seems that fewer and fewer people are truly connecting with others. How can you, as an apartment manager, connect with your residents online in a way that fosters community, instead of making face-to-face conversation even rarer?  Click here for more: http://ow.ly/JSVwV  - Courtesy of APTly Spoken from the National Apartment Association.
