The month of January was academically eventful as it included mid-term exams, the end of the second marking period, and parent-teacher conferences.  Students also participated in a Day of Service on January 19th by making 100 lunches that were donated to the Morristown Mission. On the last day of January, we acknowledged our student volunteer efforts and our honor roll students with a bagel breakfast at our town meeting. For the second marking period, twelve students earned honor roll and four students received honorable mention.

Our third marking period elective offerings are Yoga, Art Workshop, Music Workshop, and American Sign Language. The American Sign Language elective is a four day a week class offered via Proximity Learning Virtual School. Students will participate in this class with a "live" online teacher two days a week. We will also have two teachers in the class at all times to assist the students with their online assignments and their participation in the live sessions. Sage Day Boonton is offering this course for the second semester as a pilot program in order to investigate the potential for online learning opportunities in the future.

Although early January was mild, the end of the month brought a series of storms, which resulted in the cancellation of our January bowling field trip, which was rescheduled for February 5th. We are excited to announce that if we have sufficient student interest, we will be offering an After School Boot Camp. This program will run from 2:30 to 5:00 once a week for eight weeks on Thursdays starting March 26 and ending May 28. This Boot Camp program will include warm up activities, plyometrics/strength/agility exercises, and a cool down. Healthy refreshments and nutritional guidelines will be provided. The cost for the program will be $250.00. Students will need to be picked up by their parent/guardian. If  students are interested, they can attend a free trial session on February 26th from 2:30-5:00.
