Libraries to Host Preview of LabArchives

Rutgers Libraries will be hosting a demonstration of the popular electronic lab notebook platform, LabArchives. Experts will answer your questions about using their platform to help you organize, share and preserve your research data. The demo will take place on Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 in Alexander Library's Teleconference Lecture Hall. Register here. For more information, contact Laura Palumbo.

Export Control Workshop

FY14 Final and FY15 Provisional Fringe Rates 
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) finally has approved our fringe benefit rates for FY14 and also provisional rates for FY15. The acceptance of provisional rates for FY15 is a major step in addressing the continual delays by the State of New Jersey and DHHS. The final FY14 composite fringe benefit rates for the various categories of salaries and wages natural accounts are posted

Have a Solution to Help Deliver Health Care? Winning Team to Receive $50,000 Grant

Over the next four months, Rutgers students, faculty and staff will be able to form interdisciplinary teams and develop innovative technology or service model solution that have the potential to impact health outcomes and costs. The Challenge is open to all members of the Rutgers community, regardless of their prior participation in the Idea-thon. One winner will be selected to win the $50,000 in funding from The Nicholson Foundation for use in implementing their project in the Pilot portion of the competition. Announcement on Dual Use Research of Concern

The federal government published the Institutional Policy for the Oversight of Dual Use Research of Concern last fall, which requires that institutions with federal funding review all grants and projects for potential dual use research of concern. It is important to note that this new policy applies to all projects with any amount of botulinum toxin. Read more here. 

Learn About RDI2 at Upcoming Open House

RDI2 will hold an Open House Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Fiber Optics Auditorium. The goal is to introduce the Rutgers community to RDI2, its resources, expertise and research programs. You can find the agenda and register here. 

BIO 2015 International Convention

This year's BIO International Convention, one of the top annual meetings for the life sciences industry, is coming to Philadelphia June 15-18. Rutgers will play a prominent role in the New Jersey Pavilion and faculty members are invited to participate. The Office of Research and Economic Development will cover fees for qualifying posters. Honors & Accomplishments

Anand Sarwate and Saman Zonouz, assistant professors of electrical computer engineering, recently received the National Science Foundation's CAREER Award. Santosh Nagarakatte, assistant professor of computer science, also received the award, which provides a five-year, $545,000 grant.
