Let's all choose to ignore the fact that we have way too much snow on the ground here in New England and focus on the newness of spring!  To celebrate the inevitable warmer weather, we've developed some exciting new programming that starts this month!

Join us for our Coping & Calming Club  and Personal Power &  Kindness Club  on Friday afternoons this spring.  Each club meets for 6 weeks.  Kids will learn how to cope with stress and anxiety and how to calm the mind using mindfulness strategies in the Coping & Calming Club.   They will increase their personal power/self-esteem and practice  random acts of kindness   Personal Power & Kindness club.

Anxiety and stress can stop our kids from enjoying life.  Some brains are so busy thinking and worrying that it's hard for them to find solace in their own minds.  In the Coping & Calming Club, kids will learn:

Coping Skills - kids will learn to understand what causes anxiety, how it manifests in thoughts, feelings, and behavior and they will learn powerful strategies to manage stress.

Mindfulness - Kids will begin to understand how to calm their minds and bodies by learning mindfulness techniques.

Session 2:  Personal Power & Kindness undefined
6 Weeks (5/15, 5/22, 6/5, 6/12, 6/19, 6/26)

In the Personal Power & Kindness Club, kids will learn:

Random Acts of Kindness - practicing random acts of kindness is an excellent way to promote self-esteem.  In the club, kids will have weekly kindness tasks.

Personal Power - their choices make them powerful.  They will examine feelings and how to manage very strong feelings while gauging their reactions to situations.

Stick Up for Themselves - kids will learn how to stick up for themselves in a productive, friendly manner.  They will be given language to use in such situations and practice through role playing.
