NESHCo Adds New York State Affiliate Membership

The NESHCo Board of Directors is pleased to announce the creation of an affiliate membership for communications professionals working in the New York health care facilities. There is no geographic limit to the affiliate membership, however, the goal was to reach hospitals in proximity to the western areas of New England. The Board will reassess the possibility of creating a full membership with representation on the Board of Directors after this pilot program.

New York State affiliate memberships will be available at a rate of $125. However, Lamplighter entries will continue to be restricted to New England organizations by NESHCo bylaws at this time.

Meet Our Speakers: Michael Esordi

Between now and the Boston conference, we'll give you a look at some of the planned presentations and the presenters themselves.

On Day One of the conference, Michael Esordi, digital and design manager for Care New England Health System, will offer a morning breakout session entitled "How Brand Journalism Can Boost Your SEO Ranking." Here, he talks about the presentation.

1. What gave you the idea for this presentation?

When it comes to digital marketing, I am often asked to share the tricks for getting a website ranked number one in search engines, making things go viral, or to explain what the next big thing will be. Most of the questions have to do with search engine optimization so I thought it would be interesting to use the current trends in content marketing and brand journalism as the base to share some of the "magic."

2. What's your expertise in this field?

I started in the internet marketing field just more than 20 years ago as creative director of one of California's first internet marketing firms. Over the years, I have transitioned to leading the design and digital efforts for Care New England. During that time, I was fortunate enough to work on some amazing projects for clients such as the San Diego Zoo, Disney, NASA, Sony (SDDS), the New York Times, and many others. I enjoy leading the charge for marketing with new technologies and sharing what I learn.

3. What new knowledge or tips do you want people to walk away with after the presentation?

I hope people walk out of the presentation excited to jump on their own projects and use some of the "magic" they will pick up from my presentation to make amazing things happen. If they are eager to work, I'm going to provide tips, tools and ideas to build upon to help them realize an increase in their search engine optimization efforts.
