Today the 19th Judicial District Court in Baton Rouge ruled in favor of the State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Helis Oil & Gas stating that St. Tammany Parish has no right to prohibit or interfere with the state's ability to grant drilling permits. Furthermore, the court concluded that DNR appropriately and justly considered the Parish's master plan before granting a drilling permit for this important energy project.

Today's ruling marks the second consecutive legal victory for Helis in less than a week and could bring this important energy project one step closer to execution.
