The third annual Detroit Red Wings Development Camp, held at Centre Ice Arena July 3 - 7, provided superb hockey as usual, but some names on the roster made the 2015 camp anything but typical.
For starters, fans were thrilled to see the name Lidstrom back in the line up, not once, but twice. Kevin and Adam Lidstrom, sons of former Red Wings defenseman and recent Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Nicklas Lidstrom, attended camp this year. Both play hockey in Sweden; Kevin, 21, plays for IFK Arboga and Adam, 19, plays for Vasteras. And, where there are sons playing hockey, there are proud fathers looking on. It was an honor to have Nicklas Lidstrom back in Centre Ice Arena!
In the category of "Who Traveled The Farthest," two other camp attendees took top honors. Won Jun Kim and Jin Hui Ahn, both 24 and teammates on Anyang Halla of Asia League Ice Hockey, traveled the more than 6,000 miles from South Korea to participate.

Jim Paek, Dire
ctor of Hockey for the Korean Ice Hockey Association and coach of the South Korean National Team, was instrumental in bringing the players to Michigan for
camp. Paek, the first Korean to play in the NHL, was part of the Stanley Cup winning 1991 Pittsburgh Penguins team and later spent nine seasons as assistant coach of the Grand Rapids Griffins. He orchestrated the players' involvement not only at camp in Traverse City, but also in Dallas with the Stars. Thank you, Red Wings, for once again holding Development Camp at Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City!
