Georgina, Lake Simcoe - September 13, 2015
A brand new race for 2015 on the southern shores of beautiful Lake Simcoe. The race site is located in Del La Salle Park, Georgina. In 2015 we will host a Give-It-A-Tri, Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon races, as well as a Swim/Bike and Relays. Check out the race details.
Race Date Changes
We have moved Woodstock to June 6 to increase the odds of warmer water for the swim. Wasaga Beach has moved to August 29/30th, to decrease the odds of the unfavourable wind conditions experienced for the past few years. Lakeside has been moved back one week in September to increase the odds of warmer water for the swim.
11 Great Races In 2015
Unfortunately we have had to decrease the number of races in 2015 to eleven. The races in Binbrook and Huronia/Midland did not have enough athlete support to make them sustainable. For all of those who enjoyed those races, thank you for your support. We hope we see you at some of our other races.
Junior Racer Discount
In the spirit of continuing to support our young or new racers in the sport of triathlon and duathlon, a 10% discount will be automatically be applied at checkout to those individual racers 19 years and under (does not apply to KOS racers, or those that take advantage of our multi-race discount)
Multiple Race Discount
Back again is the MultiRace Discount! Enter three (3) or more races and you can save up to 25%. The more races you enter, the greater the discount. *Please note the MultiRace discount requires that you register for all of the races at the same time.
3 Garment choices for the 2015 season
Once again we are pleased to offer you 3 choices for your race memento:
- Technical shirts - These shirts are available in Men's and Women's from Small to Extra- Large with race specific artwork for each race. Registration MUST be completed two. (2) weeks prior the race to receive a race specific shirt. Generic t-shirts are available within the two (2) weeks to a race and on race day.
- We have ordered in a very limited supply of Headsweats Hats. We have Race Specific hats available for Wasaga Beach, Toronto Island , and Lakeside. We have Generic hats in an assortment of colours (white, red, blue, grey and white) available for all other races.
- A $5 Discount is available at checkout if you do not want a t-shirt or hat. We call this our "NO Frills" option!
Early Bird Discount Pricing
Starting in 2015 we will have deep discounted Early Bird Pricing available for those who register early. Details are on all of the Individual Event Pages.
Series Awards - Now a 3 race minimum!
We will be revising the points structure so that athletes will now only have to compete in three races to be eligible for Series Awards. This is as a result of the athlete feedback received at the recent Series Awards Day. We will post an announcement when the new structure has been finalized.
New Registration System
Today we are launching a brand new athlete friendly registration system from Events Online. Here are some of the features that are athlete controlled:
- Athletes can register as an Individual, Relay or participate in our Supported Training Day Race Option (more on that later in the newsletter!)
- Has your training been going so well that you can complete a longer race distance? No problem - you can change your race distance through the Participant dashboard and either upgrade (paying only the race fee difference) or downgrade your race (for no additional fees) for a race on the same event weekend!
- Has a family wedding just put a damper on your race schedule? No problem - for a $20 flat fee through the Participant Dashboard you can transfer your race to your best friend and let them race in your place! Your name will come out of the system and all the information for your lucky friend will be included.
- Simple functions are also available through the Participant Dashboard such as changing your t-shirt size.
Triathlon Ontario Fees
Triathlon Ontario fees are not part of our race fees. If you are not a member of Triathlon Ontario, $7 will be added to your registration upon checkout. See the Triathlon Ontario website for more information on becoming a member. We hope you like all of these changes.
