Stakeholder Meetings: Your Brandon Chamber of Commerce  has been busy this month meeting with Larry Maguire on labour challenges and the impacts of changes to the Temporary Foreign Workers Program; the Business Development Committee explored and met with Behlen Industries; the Agriculture Commmittee met with Manitoba Trade; a meeting was held with Minister Kevin Chief from the Department of Jobs and the Economy to discuss labour challenges, training opportunities and future program development at post-secondary educational institutions; as well a meeting with MLA Drew Caldwell, Minister for Municipal Government to discuss infrastructure, downtown vitalization, ACC expansion, and taxation.

Big Win for Canadian Exporters: The Chamber of Commerce welcomes Prime Minister Stephen Harper's announcement that Canada will establish a new export market development program and expand the Trade Commissioner Service. Learn more here

New Program: Career Connections has launched Direct Access Employment to help people with self-declared disabilities find employment. It is a free service to assist connecting people with employers and develop employment skills.

Mentoring Program: The Manitoba Marketing Network, a partner of Entrepreneurship Manitoba, is accepting applications for their Mentoring Program, a free service that provides guidance from business owners on marketing& promotion to financial management, sales, HR, and more.
