WEEKLY SPECIALS

The King's Daughters Inn House Blend

The King's Daughters Inn is a beautiful bed and breakfast in Durham, NC.  When Inn Keepers and friends, Colin and Deanna Crossman, asked us to provide the house coffee, we knew the coffee needed to be a special and luxurious as the Inn itself.  This coffee is a melange (mixture) of two different roast levels. The base, medium roast coffee is an elegantly simple island flavor profile, rounded and slightly fruity. The small amount of dark roasts adds intriguing complexity, bringing hints of nuts and chocolate. Destined to be a classic.

Classic Italian Espresso

It's not often that we put an Espresso on sale, so take advantage of this rare opportunity.  The Classic Italian Espresso was the first espresso to make it onto our menu.  It is a fundamental espresso blend of the type you would find along an alley in Rome
or Florence, the classic blend
has excellent body, great aromatics,
and a long aftertaste.  It is a great
straight espresso but also stands
up to milk in milk-based drinks -
classic cappucino is 1/3 espresso,
1/3 steamed milk, 1/3 milk foam.

Happy Thursday!

Our first shipment of new coffees has arrived!  The entire shipment is different Ethiopian coffees like we currently have in stock.  The organization behind these beautiful coffees is called Dominion Trading, which operates on two continents with a handful of people for the express purpose of helping Ethiopian family farms.  Our Ethiopian coffees are better than fair trade.  They are relationship coffees, meaning Dominion Trading Company makes sure the farm families receives a higher price than the fair trade price.  Great for the families, great for our customers and for us.  It's a win-win situation!

Please take note of some schedule changes.  We will be closed on Tuesday, March 31st.  Normal hours resume on Thursday, April 2nd.  This Saturday, March 28th will be the last Saturday for customers to come to the shop to purchase coffee.  This Saturday is also the last Saturday for the Western Wake winter market.  Hours are 9:30-12:00.  April 4th will be the first day of the Western Wake spring/summer market.  Hours change back to 8:00-12:00.  Look for some changes at the market, including their new website.

Have a great weekend,

Jim and Debbie
