We are now just 452 days until DiscoverSanta2016 and there is so much going on, I almost don't know where to start. So, just to get everyone up to date, I though it would be good to share the general schedule of what will happen in Branson, Missouri next July, 2016.
This is a long newsletter, but that is only because the convention has so much going on!

Although not part of the actual convention, Branson will have lots going on for anyone visiting. The entire city will be decked out in Red White and Blue and every show and attraction will be open. Beside being an entertainment capitol, Branson is also known as one of the most Patriotic Cities in the Country.

This is an early check-in day for Santas and Families. Everyone will be on their own for the day and evening. Taunya and Branson Ticket and Travel can arrange for early arrival or late departure and tickets to shows Visit the Branson Ticket and Travel Web site for more information on the over 100 Shows and attractions Branson has to offer.

Wednesday, July 6, 2016 - Arrival Day / Car & Sleigh Show / Blood Drive / Welcome Social / Regional Events
Most of the convention attendees will be arriving today. So everything is casual. But we will have lots for you to see and do.
As you arrive at your hotel, the registration committee will hand you your package with ID badge and tickets for all events and activities you have registered for. We will have registration committee at all hotels. There will also be a representative from Branson Ticket and Travel available to help with anything or assist you in booking other attractions
Complimentary Shuttle Buses will be running between the host hotels and the Convention Headquarters, the Chateau on the Hill
 A small golf outing is being planned for the morning at a local Country Club.
At the Chateau, there will be lots going on. The Vendor Showcase will open on Friday, but this will be an early move-in day for those vendors wanting to set up early so they can enjoy the convention and what Branson has to offer.
Santa Kevin Scott will be chairing a special Red Cross Blood Drive all day long. You can contact him if you would like to be one of the many who will make a live giving donation that day.
And nearby, you can visit the, "My other Car is a Sleigh," Car and Motorcycle show. Santas from around the country will be bringing their custom cars and cycles to show off and to ride in the "Parade of Red Suits"
 The afternoon, from 3 to 6 pm will find everyone at the Grand Village Shoppes for the first official, "Kringle Family Reunion!" This is being held on the site of the first Discover Santa Parade and our host is "Kringles," the largest Christmas Store in Missouri. There will be food and refreshments for everyone.
From 6:00 pm on we are turning everything over to the local, state and regional Santa associations. They will be hosting their own events, socials or dinners.

Thursday, July 7, 2016 Parade of Red Suits / Opening Session & Show / National Association Parties
The morning will begin with early,(5:30am). wake up calls to all Santas and Convention attendees (By the way some of your convention committee will have been up all night preparing for this special event!)
 Buses will begin running at 6:00 a.m. taking everyone to Branson Landing.
This is the major kick-off and Media event with all Santas, Mrs. Clauses, Santa helpers, Floats, Bands and other participants. All in full Holiday Attire!.
It is scheduled early in the morning because it is cool and
to meet the media needs. We will have up to 1000 people starting at 7:00 am for live parade during the 8:00 a.m. hour of National TV
There will be no Vendor Showcase this day as there are no events at the Headquarters Hotel today. However some vendors may be moving in and setting up.
Following the Parade we will gather at the Town Square at Branson Landing for our group photo.
Then everyone board the buses back to their hotels. Box lunches will be distributed, and everyone will have time to change, cool down and prepare for the Afternoon.
Buses will again be running from Noon to 1 pm to get everyone to the Mickey Gilley Theater for the Opening Session of DiscoverSanta2016. There will be surprise guests, a welcome from the Mayor and the City of Branson, and a keynote speaker.
Following the opening session, we will be guests for a private show featuring "SIX!" Dubbed "An Orchestra of Human Voices", SIX combines the musical showmanship and boundless energy of six remarkable brothers (Barry, Kevin, Lynn, Jak, Owen and Curtis).
Now in their seventh year in Branson Missouri, SIX has perfected the vocal sounds of more than just lyrics, but also instrumentation and sound effects. The playlist for their current show set features everything from Elvis, Frankie Valli, Beach Boys and Tom Jones to Psy, MC Hammer, Kansas, Coldplay and Journey

The evening has been set aside for National groups to host their own events, separate from the Convention package.
 The IBRBS is sponsoring "Meet the Santas," a special evening aboard the Showboat Branson Belle. This was a highlight event at our 2006 convention and the evening includes round-trip coach transfer to the Showboat Landing where you can do a little shopping before boarding one of the most beautiful Showboats in the U.S., The Branson Belle. Once aboard you will enjoy dinner and a live variety show

Friday, July 8, 2016 SNO-lympics? / All-American Barbecue Lunch / Workshops / Dixie Stampede
Our day begins with shuttles from host hotels to the Chateau on the Lake.
The Vendor Showcase will officially open for the next three days.
From 9am to Noon we will host "SNO-lympics," the Summer Santa Games. This will be special games with Santas and Mrs. Claus' competing on teams and individually.
This will be followed by an All-American Barbecue Lunch.
The Afternoon will be the start of a day and a half of workshops and seminars for Santas, Mrs. Claus and all attending. There will be a total of six sessions, with two today and four tomorrow.
Following the workshops, shuttles will return everyone to their hotels to freshen up and get ready for a special evening.
 For the evening, we have booked the entire house at Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede. Buses will pick up everyone and head to this exclusive Dinner/Show just for our convention. And, it will feature some fun events with the Santas and Mrs. Claus! Plus, you will enjoy a wonderful three-course Dinner, and all the ice tea or soda you want!
Shuttles will return everyone to their hotels after this show.

Saturday, July 9, 2016 Workshops / Luncheon with guest speaker / Gala Reception with Fashion Show, and Gala Dinner & Show
We start the day with shuttles from all hotels to the Chateau for a day of workshops and seminars. The Vendor Showcase will be open all day.
Noon-time will see a relaxing lunch where you can network with your fellow Santas and Mrs. Claus.
The afternoon will have two more workshop sessions.
Following the last workshop, at 4:00pm, shuttles will again be running to return everyone to their hotels so the can prepare for a "GALA" evening. Shuttles will return everyone to the Chateau
From 6:30 to 8:00pm we will have a wonderful reception that will feature the "Dress to Impress" Fashion Show. This is a chance for all Santas and Mrs. Claus to show off their finest!
From the reception we will move into the main ballroom for the "Red Suit Gala," where a wonderful banquet will await everyone, along with live entertainment. (No Speeches!)

Sunday, July 10, 2016 Gospel Worship Service / Santa Claus Hall of Fame Ceremonies / Guest Speaker / Santa Claus Oath
Sunday morning is the closing day of the convention. Shuttles will transport everyone to the Chateau. The Vendor Showcase will be open for final sales and to pick up items you bought earlier.
Santa Cliff Snider will be our chairman this morning for a real southern Gospel Worship Service, featuring some of Branson's well know entertainers.
This will be followed by the Santa Claus Oath Foundation's ceremonies for the International Santa Claus Hall of Fame. I am sure a few surprises are in store for everyone.
And we will close the convention with thank you to key supporters and sponsors and finish with our reciting of the
"Santa Claus Oath."
Shuttles will again return everyone to their hotels.
And if you really love Branson, you can extend your stay. Just call Taunya and she can make all the arrangements.

CONVENTION REGISTRATION
Everyone knows how nice it is to work with Taunya Lay of Branson Ticket & Travel (BT&T). I am so glad that she is again on board with us for this convention. I know everyone who worked with her at the original Discover Santa Convention had high praise for her work and how she assisted all of us.
For those who have already registered, and wish to make changes, it's easy to just call Taunya. She can add extra days to your hotel reservations, make changes to other hotels and add other shows and attractions for your visit.
All reservations and registration must be done through Branson Ticket and Travel (BT&T). To start just go on-line at www.DS2016.com If I you have something that cannot be done on line, feel free to call Taunya at (800) 432-4202. But fill-out and submit your registration form first! It will give her something to work off of
Once you have filled out your form, Taunya will work with you on your request. If you are not sure of what you need, just make some selections to start with. You can make changes later, there is no obligation, and it will get your registration started.

How many Santas & Mrs. Claus?

|
This group photo, taken at the end of the 1st Branson Santa Parade featured almost 300 Santas plus many Mrs. Claus. Our 2016 Parade will be even larger, perhaps the largest parade of Santas ever presented.
