Urgent: Update on Steward Exit and your Responsibility to Report Worthington Pressurized Containers

As you are aware, Stewardship Ontario undertook a review of the pressurized container category, which included contacting stewards and discussing their current reporting in this material category. As part of this effort, we also carried out investigations and a legal review of the residency status of stewards in this category.

Following our investigations, it was ultimately deemed that Worthington Cylinders Corp. does not have residency in Ontario, therefore placing the obligation to report and pay fees for Worthington branded pressurized containers on the first importers. Worthington brands that you will need to start reporting on are:

• Worthington
• Coleman
• Balloon Time
• Bernzomatic

Consequently, for your next MHSW report [i.e., your 2014 Q4 Report (Q3 Data)], you will need to report on any Worthington pressurized containers that you supply into Ontario.
