Coding Isotope Treatment for Prostate Cases
  

 

  

Code prostate cancer cases treated with radioactive isotope seeds 

(I-125 seeds, Cesium, Palladium, etc.) using the following codes:

  • Radiation - Regional Rx  Modality: codes 50-55 - Brachytherapy; Radium
  • Radiation - Rx Summ - Radiation: code 2 - Radioactive Implants

 

Code prostate cases treated with Strontium-89 or Strontium-90 for distant metastasis using the following codes:

  • Radiation - Regional Rx Modality: codes 61-62 - Strontium 
  • Radiation - Rx Summ - Radiation: code 3 - Radioisotopes
