 7th Annual Laternenfest
GISC and the DANK Haus hosted a very successful Laternenfest and St. Martin's Parade on November 9. Over 600 people enjoyed crafting, face painting, singing and eating before heading to Giddings Plaza in Lincoln Square for a sing-along.  GISC Annual Fund Campaign
In November, GISC launched its first ever Annual Fund fundraising campaign. Materials were sent to all GISC families, as well as many Friends of GISC, outlining the importance of the campaign and our goal to achieve 100% participation from families to reach our Annual Fund goal of $30,000.  ZfA Book Donation
As in prior years, GISC received books for elementary school students from the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA). Frau Anka Fehling, Language Consultant, ZfA, presented the books to Dr. Harnischfeger and Frau Obritzberger on November 20.

 Nikolaustag
On December 6, Nikolaus visited all the classrooms at GISC. The children sang songs and/or recited poems for Nikolaus, and everyone received small bags of treats.

 Weihnachtsfeier
GISC finished 2014 with a holiday celebration (Weihnachtsfeier) on December 19. The preschool, Kindergarten and elementary school classes performed holiday plays (in German, English and French), then invited everyone to join in singing five German carols. Afterward, families and staff enjoyed a Christmas potluck lunch organized by the GISCPO.
