Hidden Creek Family Golf Course is Midwest City's first location to offer Footgolf, a sport that is rapidly growing in the United States. Footgolf is very similar to the traditional game of golf, just substituting in a soccer ball and larger cup. Tribute to Liberty.

You're invited to celebrate the 4th of July in Midwest City. The annual Tribute to Liberty event will take place at the Joe B. Barnes Regional Park on Saturday, July 4 beginning at 6 p.m.

 

There will be live music from Southern Rift at 6 p.m. and the event headliner, The Dr. Irv Wagner Concert Band at 8:30 p.m. You can grab dinner from a selection of local food trucks at the event before settling in to watch the firework show starting at 9:45 p.m. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for an evening of fun and entertainment!

SoonerCon 24.

 

Oklahoma's oldest and longest running pop culture convention, SoonerCon 24, is taking place in the Sheraton Midwest City Hotel at the Reed Conference

Center, June 26 through 28. The event will run from 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. This convention features gaming, workshops, cosplay, the largest SF/F themed art show in the Southwest, a Friday night Wrecking Ball dance, live music, comics creators, an exhibit hall and

much more.

 

Featured SoonerCon guests include Robert Picardo, of Star Trek, Voyager, Legend and Stargate: Atlantis; anime voice actors Chuck Huber of Dragonball Z and Full Metal Alchemist; Space Dandy's Ian Sinclair and Jamie Marchi of Witchblade and Fairy Tale.

Congratulations to the Midwest City Parks & Recreation Department for winning two awards at this year's Frontier Country Marketing Association annual awards.

The Department took home first place in the
Outstanding Food Festival category for the Made in Oklahoma Wine, Beer & Food Festival and earned an honorable mention for the event in the Outstanding Agritourism Attraction or Event category.
