NEFLIN Assistance for Conference Travel
|
If you will be traveling to a conference in 2015 and need financial assistance, please consider applying to NEFLIN for a stipend from the Jim Morris Continuing Education Fund (JMCEF).
Since its inception the JMCEF has provided over $3,000 to assist NEFLIN members with their professional development.
The NEFLIN Board recently increased the stipend maximum to $500, and revised the application process to make it easier to apply and receive funds.

LEGO Education Program Kit

Students will build and explore machines and mechanisms, investigate motorized machines, calibrate and capture wind, and study gearing mechanisms with this core brick set. Each NEFLIN Program Kit includes 3 Sets of 396 LEGO� Technic elements and full-color building instruction booklets for 10 principle models and 18 main models, all in a sturdy storage bin that includes a sorting tray and a CD-ROM Activity Pack with lessons, activities, student worksheets, and glossary. The Marshall W. Hamilton Library at North Florida Community College offers a wealth of resources necessary for support of student learning both on site and online. The Library features Wi-Fi access indoors and out. Online resources consist of the Library's catalog, full-text periodical databases, electronic books, email reference, and electronic renewal of library materials.
The Library provides comfortable and attractive surroundings for use of collections and encourages casual reading and browsing as well as serious research. Tables and small group areas offer various study settings and convenient access to collections. Thirty-nine computers allow student's access to the Internet, email, and other student related software. A classroom houses full presentation equipment and a computer lab. The conference room offers comfortable seating where students can take advantage of a quiet study space or reserve it for larger study groups and meetings.
The library collections include 33,000 print books, 140,000 electronic books, over 100 electronic databases, 24 periodical subscriptions, and over 800 DVDs. The library website (www.nfcc.edu/library) provides an information portal for access to the library catalog, full-text databases, electronic books, and library information. Professional librarians are available to assist students with any research questions or help with library resources.

NEFLIN in Orange Park
Stories and storytelling are our link with all of humanity. In this workshop, you'll discover how to find stories that speak to you, how to put stories inside of you, and how to be present in the telling as the story unfolds. You'll get to the heart-the responsibilities, blessings, experiences and joy-of storytelling.
Workshop Objectives: - Practice deep listening skills
- Discover your innate capacity as a storyteller
- Draw on personal and cultural images and memories to shape narrative
- Learn how to 'embody' your stories
- Cultivate and enjoy the bond that forms between teller and listener
