Fall Fun in Mohican!

There is always time to enjoy the outdoors and no better place than Mohican if you enjoy hiking, bicycling, horseback riding and fall events. There are numerous benefits to being active, outdoors. So don't just stand outside, do something fun!

 

Hiking is a good way to get started on a new outdoor activity. There are over 100 miles of trails at Mohican State Park. During the fall, hike up and admire the view of Lyons Falls or the Clear Fork Gorge Overlook.  Fall is a great time to enjoy the canopy as it is set ablaze with color.

 

The mountain biking trails are a good way to rev up the cardio workout. Ride as fast or as easy as you want. The trails are used all year long and can be accessed off of State Route 3. Just park at the Mohican-Loudonville Visitors Center.

 

Grab some boots and a long-sleeve shirt and enjoy the outdoors while on horseback. Several cabin rentals offer stables for the horses. There are now 88 miles of horseback trails that traverse the countryside from Mohican State Park, Mohican State Forest, Malabar Farm State Park and Pleasant Hill Lake Park. If trail riding is more suitable, call Triple M Riding Rescue Ranch. Rides typically last an hour.

The wonderful brisk air will beckon the call into a cabin, campground, hotel or resort. Relax and remember, it's too much fun for just one day. Stay and play those cares away!

Log Cabin Days is a family-friendly and free annual tradition in Mohican. Lumberjack competition, a log cabin will be built and auctioned off during the show and activities for the kids. 

Two crowd pleasing events are back-to-back weekends! Welcome back the Great Mohican Pow-Wow. This event brings together the Native American traditions like never before. 

Oktoberfest is September 27th at the Wolf Creek Grist Mill. Come and enjoy an Old World style German atmosphere with great food, live bands and of course - beer!

The 126th Loudonville Street Fair runs from September 30-October 4th. Entertainment includes The Willis Clan, The DeVault Ridge Band and local bands: Tightrope and Joyful Noise.

Don't forget to enjoy those fall colors while on the Fall Foliage Tour. Shop, stay and play while enjoying the amazing views of Mohican. Coinciding with the tour is the Mohican 5K Run/Walk. Proceeds help maintain the bike path that connects Mohican State Park Campground to downtown Loudonville.
