The Wednesday night film for December is "Guardians of the Galaxy," the sci-fi, adventure film based on the Marvel comic books. It was a huge hit in the theaters, so we decided to give you two chances to view it at the Library. On Wednesday December 10th at 6:30pm and again on Saturday December 13th at 2pm. The film's run time is 121 minutes. This film is rated PG-13. The Friends of the Library will be selling popcorn for $1 a bag at the evening performance.

Crafters Wanted

We are looking for crafters interested in sharing a simple (and inexpensive) craft for a monthly program now in development. If you do a craft that you would be willing to lead a small group in crafting, please contact Susan Dunker, the Adult Services Librarian at [email protected]. Examples might include rug braiding a coaster, a simply woven basket, or almost anything.

Catalog Corner

IDream Books

We recently added a new enhanced content feature to our catalog that links to the I Dream Books website. I Dream Books is a book discovery tool with ratings and recommendations based on critically reviewed books from reliable print and select web reviewers. If a book in our catalog has enough reviews you might see a blue cloud, which is a recommended book, or a gray cloud which is not recommended. Click on the cloud icon to open the book's record and get more information. It is fairly limited due to the ever decreasing outlets for book reviews, but worth adding to your mental toolbox of ways to discover notable books. Their tagline is "Never read a crappy book again!" Go to their website idreambooks.com for more book suggestions.
