But it is these same banking and investment institutions and governments which deflation will harm the most." This is the central predicament for regular folks.

Cash should be king in a deflation. However the December Dodd-Frank rule changes imperil FDIC-insured accounts (unsecured creditors- and low on the totem pole to boot).

Those accounts are housed by precisely the entities that will do the seizing in the event of a derivatives complex collapse (due to commodity (oil!) deflation).

You probably know Jim Rickards as the author of two incredibly insightful books on finance and global geopolitics: Currency Wars and The Death of Money.

Jim worked on Wall Street for 35 years and has an intimate understanding of how global finance and the monetary system work. He knows and regularly talks with key policymakers at the Fed Board of Governors and US Treasury, and he testifies before Congress on financial matters.

Bottom line, he's an extremely respected person in the world of finance. Not some tin-foil hat, gloom and doom guy.

When he speaks, every sensible person should listen.

How long have you been in this? How many times have you sat on the edge of your seat absolutely knowing that it is going to happen any minute in all of those years?

How many times have you heard what a "Superfantastic" weekend we were suppose to have?

How many times have you counted your currency like it was going to multiply if you counted it one more time?

How many times have you heard about some source that someone has that has exchanged but is under an NDA and can't discuss it? I think you get where I am going on this my friends.....

I was thinking....(that's dangerous) a what if scenario.

Since many countries are considering doing what the Swiss did, wouldn't that make Germany jittery to get out before they are left holding the proverbial bag and lose their shirts/shorts/sock & Shoes?

I would not be surprised if tonight into tomorrow we see another shoe fall in the Eurozone!

I feel with each new step will bring more impactful repercussions as a 'run-on-the-bank' type event begins to hit.

And to those companies playing with derivatives, your next!
