Friendship Center Has Plenty to Offer Seniors in October
Westland, MI - Seniors looking to attend events at the Friendship Center this October have plenty of options available. The Friendship Center is located at 1119 Newburgh Road. Below is a list of their upcoming events and the details - bring friends and family! 

Senior Health and Resource Day, Friday, October 10, 9:30 am - 12 noon - This event is part of National Senior Health & Fitness Day - stop by for this fun and informative event! A lasagna luncheon will follow the event. $2 donation at sign up goes to the Senior Rider Assistance Program. Sign up at the front desk of the Friendship Center. Flu shots will be available that day, as well as sign up for Shingles vaccine.

Lunch with Elvis!, Friday, October 17, 12 noon - 2:30 pm - Join us for this rocking event with music that's a blast from the past! Eat lunch, and listen and dance to music by Elvis. Once again, Lance Slaton will be running the show! Sign-up at the front desk, $10 per ticket.

  

Medicare Enrollment Day, Monday, October 20, starting at 10 am -  Residents approaching the age of 65 looking to enroll in Medicare are encouraged to stop by the Friendship Center. This is a great opportunity for those looking to enroll in the health care program and learn what you need to sign up. Also, if you are looking to change your Medicare option, that information will be available as well! It starts at 10 am and will run all day. 

 

Halloween Dog Walk in Coburn Park (behind the Friendship Center), Friday, October 31, 12:30 - 2 pm - Must be pre-registered.  

Bring your pup in costume for $5, which will include donuts, cider, and a chance to win a gift card! There will be four different dog contests by panel of three judges. We hope you and your costume-clad pups can join us for this great event! 

 

One dog per person - must be leashed.
