Our par sponsor, Bantique Chiropractic, is organizing a charity golf tournament for the  Holy Cross Academy and Holy Cross Church of West Sacramento, California.  On August 21st, they are hosting their 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Wild Horse Golf Club in Davis, CA.  They are not only looking for more players, but for any level of sponsorship.  The proceeds from the tournament will partly go towards the repair, re-striping of their parking lot and bringing it up to code.  For more information or to register, you can call Carmelo Bantique at (916) 832-6385, email him at [email protected], go to the Facebook event, or click HERE for the registration form.

Pippin, Little Mermaid and Newsies are only one week long. Kathleen will get matinee tickets for Elf, The Musical and Little Mermaid so children and grandchildren will be able to stay up to see the musicals.

BASIC FULL SWING CLINIC - Deadline Extended to July 21st

 

Let's Bring Out the Big Club!


 

This clinic will focus on the fundamentals of hitting the driver. Playing from the fairway makes golf much easier, and getting good distance on your drives means you will have shorter approach shots. For these reasons, understanding the proper fundamentals of how to hit a driver should be one of the top priorities for any golfer. 

 

The "Basic Full Swing Clinic" is offered on Thursday, July 23rd at Haggin Oaks.

The Reserve at Spanos Park ~ Jinx Day

 

On July 11, nineteen ladies showed up to tackle the course where the EWGA semifinals will be played on August 1st.   The game we played was called Jinx Day.  You were able to take three of your worst holes and turn them into pars and then subtract your course handicap.  We had a three-way tie between Nanci Smith, Sharon Blume, and Carolyn Cochran (the miracle lady who recently had a stroke and had blood clots removed from her brain.) 

 

Nanci Smith won on a card-off due to her awesome back nine of 37!!  She won a round of golf donated by the course so she can get another practice round in before the semifinals.  
Sharon and Carolyn  each won a sleeve of EWGA logo balls generously donated by Charlotte Wells and Leslie Lang who won them at the EWGA Par Three Challenge in Florida.  

 
Cherry Island - July 5th
Must have been the holiday weekend why so few of us played on Sunday July 5 at Cherry Island, but those eight that played had a great time.  Weather was great, little breezy at first, but heated up a bit late.


There were two foursomes competing against each other.  The game is called 18.  You receive one point if you're in the fairway on the par 5s; one point if you are on the green on a par 3; and one point if you sink a one putt on the par 4s.  Then we totaled up the scores and the team of Kris Corbridge, Carolyn Cochran, Shelley Van Drimmelen, and Pam Katros came out the winners with a score of 29.
