ANZ: Vietnam oil consumption growth fastest in region

Vietnam's oil consumption growth is the fastest in the region, overtaking China and rising by 7.5% annually over the last 20 years, according to ANZ Bank.

The bank said in a report released on Tuesday that this dynamic has contributed to switching Vietnam to a net oil consumer since 2010 from a net oil producer.

"In light of the surge in electronics production over the last three years, we expect oil consumption to continue rising as total energy needs keep pace with the demands of manufacturing growth," it said.

Don't Do These Things If You  Are Financially Strapped  Or "Broke"

5 of the Worst Things to Do When You're Broke    By  Erika Rawes

A large portion of Americans are, well, broke. A 2014 Pew Research Center report indicates that a surprising 40% of Americans identify themselves as lower-middle class.

This statistic, coupled with the fact that around 50 million Americans live on household that bring in below-poverty level salaries, conveys just how many Americans are earning lower incomes these days.

Have you ever been broke? If so, did your financial decision making improve as a result of your limited financial resources?

Brule   UAE willing to put defence capabilities at Jordan's disposal

06 Feb 2015 11:59 PM by JT |  AMMAN - The United Arab Emirates is willing to dedicate "military capabilities to Jordan's armed forces", a senior Emirati official said Thursday.

His Majesty King Abdullah received a phone call from Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who offered condolences over the death of pilot Muath Kasasbeh and expressed the UAE's solidarity with Jordan, praising the Jordanian army and its "heroic role in combating terrorism".

Sheikh Mohammad, who is also the deputy supreme commander of the UAE armed forces, condemned the acts of the so-called Islamic State terrorist group, which killed the pilot by immolation, drawing condemnation by the international community.

The King received more calls and cables from leaders offering condolences over the death of the officer.

KTFA:
islandg1211 :The curfew was "put into place by US troops in 2003." My point exactly. Doesn't anyone else recall Frank discussing why, for legal reasons to meet the definition of sovereignty, the US had to pull out prior to Article VIII and the RV? We had this discussion back in December 2012.

Some of us actually do have notes that far back. Lifting the curfew, IMO, not only sends the message that Baghdad is safe and secure, but SOVERIEGN.

I've been wondering if and when we will be told that Iraq has a holiday during our three-day Presidents' Day holiday. Dr. S may want a three-day holiday. Just wondering.

Frank26:   Greetings KTFA Family:  I'll try to make this short.
