Workshop descriptions

 

Mouse 101 - this workshop is designed for the inexperienced computer user. It focuses on learning to use and practice with the computer mouse.

 

Keyboarding 101 - this workshop is designed for the very inexperienced computer user. It focuses on learning to use a computer keyboard and developing touch typing skills.

 

Email 101: Creating an Email Account - This workshop is designed for the inexperienced email (electronic mail) user. This workshop will assist computer users in learning the basic features of creating an email account: signing into an account, receiving & composing email messages. This workshop is for computer users who do not have an active email account. A mobile phone number may be required for creating an email account. Prerequisite - Must know how to use a computer mouse and keyboard.

 

Email 102: Using an Email Account - this workshop is designed for the experienced email user. This workshop will assist computer users in learning the advanced features of an email account; creating folders, creating an address book, sending an attached document, printing, and reset a password.      Computer users must already have an active email account to attend this workshop. Prerequisite - Must know how to use a computer mouse and keyboard.

 

Internet from Scratch - This workshop includes basic internet terminology, using web browsers and web addresses, visiting and navigating websites and internet safety tips. Prerequisite - Must know how to use a computer mouse and keyboard.

 

WinWay: Resume Writing Made Easy - WinWay Resume Deluxe is software specially designed for creating or improving resumes. In addition, the software offers video clips on how to handle common interview questions. Computer users will have the opportunity to use WinWay during the workshop. Please bring your USB Drive to store your resume. Prerequisite - Must know how to use a computer mouse and keyboard.

 

(New Workshops) Learning Express Library Series: these workshops are interactive video tutorials to assist computer users in mastering basic, intermediate, & advance software programs (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint). Computer users will have the opportunity to use LEL during the workshops. An email address is required for these workshops. Prerequisite - Must know how to use a computer mouse and keyboard
