"Christian freedom and Christian obedience consist in being docile to the word of God; in having the courage to become fresh skins for this new wine ... the courage to discern always, to discern ... what the Spirit is doing in my heart, what the Spirit wants in my heart, where the Spirit is leading me in my heart; and to obey."
Pope Francis,
20 January 2014

Thy Word is a Lamp Unto My Feet
2015 Women's Retreat Report by Cristy Livingston "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet." How many times have I heard that Amy Grant song, and loved the image it portrays? It took on a much deeper meaning after my weekend at the WWCCR annual Women's Retreat. Holy WOW! Lavinia Spirito was a vibrant and engaging speaker who shared with us some of her deep knowledge of Holy Scripture in an enlightening way. On the first night of the retreat we all shared one word to summarize why we were there. My chosen word was peace, and discernment a close second. As I listened to the talks, shared time with my small group, sang praise & worship, participated in Adoration and Mass, and received healing prayers, these words took deeper root in my soul.
On Saturday morning Lavinia talked about how we are called to use Scripture to grow in holiness.

From Sue's Desk
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, It seems like we just finished un-decorating from Christmas and it is time for Lent. It is a wondrous time of watching the bulbs start to pop up and hearing the birds chirping outside to announce that the light is returning. Do you enjoy Lent? Do you look forward to the opportunity to go into the desert with Jesus to be strengthened by the Father and the Spirit? When we put ourselves in the posture of penance, fasting and almsgiving, we are better disposed to appreciate nature and to desire to build up our spiritual house. "Few souls understand what God would accomplish in them if they were to abandon themselves unreservedly to Him and if they were to allow His grace to mold them accordingly." -St. Ignatius of Loyola A powerful form of molding is in the reading and praying with scripture.

Dwelling Place Healing Nights
A report by Kerry McMahon
Dwelling Place Healing Nights is a ministry of WWCCR that provides a place for participants to seek the Holy Spirit and an encounter with God. Through a serene environment before the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, God's healing power is truly present as He touches hearts, minds, and bodies. Our team is made up of hospitality ministers, intercessors, prayer servants, and prayer teams for private prayer. Mitch Roberts, Misty Tougas and I co-direct and lead these nights of ministry.
Upon entering the church, participants quietly sit and soak in God's presence through beautiful music and an atmosphere of prayer. Prayer servants gently lay hands on the shoulders of attendees and many people experience God's love. Read more...
