Family Ride Sunday, September 7, 10am-12pm 1st Sunday of the Month
Open to kids of all ages - adult kids as well. Take a slow cruise with us around Alameda - a different route each time - and end at Tucker's for a free scoop. We'll split up into 2-3 groups to ensure the proper pace, helmets required.
FAST = kick bikes, training wheels, and new 2-wheelers (brisk walk pace)
FASTER = 12", 16", and 20" wheeled bikes (jog pace)
FASTEST = 20" wheel and above (10 - 12 mph)
Ride on 2 Wheels
Sunday, September 14, 10am - 12pm, 2nd Sunday of the Month
We'll help you get off training wheels, or learn how to ride a bicycle for the first time. Bring your bike, helmet, and a dash of courage - we'll provide the rest. One parent per child required. Space is limited to 12 kids. RSVP a must, via Facebook or email.
Many thanks to Pacific Coast Real Estate for providing the location for us to have our class! www.pacificcoastre.com
Flat Tire Clinic
Sunday, September 28, 5:30 pm, every 4th Sunday of the month Our free clinic is a perennial favorite! Bring your wheel or bike - we'll provide the tools and step-by-step instruction to master the most fundamental repair to cycle with confidence.
Wednesday Fitness Rides Wednesday, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Because everyone needs a little kick in the butt to stay fit. Meet at 6:15 pm (we'll leave promptly at 6:30 pm) and take a ride around the island at a 12 - 16 mph clip. This speed is pretty doable for most fitness levels, however you could always peel off whenever you like, so feel free to join us and get stronger every week! No bike restrictions, but fat tire cruisers are probably gonna be struggling. Helmets required, hydration recommended.
Team Alameda Saturdays 8am & Sundays 9am @ Kaiser (on Central Ave by Park St). Our club is super nice and beginner-friendly, with all rides being strictly no-drop (which means no one gets left behind). Check out teamalameda.org for ride updates and rules. You can also join us a few times before committing to an annual membership.
