IN THE WORKS
School Supply Drive/Blessing of the Backpacks
While you're doing your weekly shopping we hope you will consider picking up some extra school supplies for some less fortunate children. This year our school supply donation will benefit children just down the street from us at  Downtown Elementary Magnet Academy , a Title 1 school in Muscogee County. Each year they have a large population of homeless children starting school there and parents often have to choose between struggling to buy the already discounted consignment school uniforms, or struggling to purchase school supplies.

Donation baskets will be set up in the foyer of the Parish Office beginning  Sunday, July 12 , along with a school supply list.

We will also be making one large wholesale purchase of backpacks and filling them with your donated school supplies. If you would like to help us cover the cost of the backpacks please send a check made out to Trinity with "backpack donation" in the memo section.

Be sure your children and grandchildren bring their backpacks to the 10:30 service Sunday, August 2 for the much beloved annual Blessing of the Backpacks.

Will You Help Send Us on Our Way?
In July about 20 members of your church family and friends will travel to Nicaragua for a seven day mission trip. If you would like to make a contribution to offset some of the cost of this trip for participants please send your donation to the Parish Office (P.O. Box 1146 Columbus, GA 31902) with your check properly made out to  Trinity Episcopal Church and in the memo section please write "Nic. trip donation." Thank you!

The Hunt is ON in Uptown!
Our rising 5th & 6th graders are invited to compete in an exciting scavenger hunt in Uptown Columbus Saturday, July 18 . Meet us at the church at 4:00 pm . From there teams of children and adults will split up to search and explore the area! As each team finishes up we'll all rally up together and meet Mrs. Kathryn for pizza at Your Pie on Broadway.

Wednesday Night BINGO Fun & Hot Dog Dinner
Once each month (on the 4th Wednesday) during the summer we will meet for a 5:30 pm Wednesday Night Parish Family Dinner & an Intergenerational event. The next Wednesday night intergenerational fellowship will be  July 22 at 5:30 pm . Join us then for BINGO and hot dogs with all the fixings (chili, etc...), baked bean casserole, and coleslaw.

*Regularly scheduled Wednesday evening Christian Education programs resume Wednesday, September 9. Mark your calendars!
Enjoy a Chilly Treat & Beat the Heat!

Drop in for an ice cold popsicle anytime from 1:00 - 3:00 pm on the last Saturday of June, July, and August. This is a great way to just get together and relax with other families in our church!

AROUND THE PARISH
Annual Council 2015
Each year parishes in our diocese send delegates from their respective churches to the Annual Council. At this two day event there are legislative sessions, elections of officers for the church, worship and Bible study, and ministry reports. It is a wonderful way to meet fellow Episcopalians and learn about the exciting ministries of our brother and sisters.

This year council will be held in the Gwinnett Center (6400 Sugarloaf Parkway Duluth, GA 30097) in Duluth, GA on Friday & Saturday November 13-14, 2015. The Northeast Metro Convocation will host the event. We need to send four lay delegates from Trinity. If you are interested in attending please contact Fr. Tim Graham either by email at  [email protected] or by calling him at the Parish Office at (706) 322-5569 ext. 302.
The Parish Needs More Prayer Books
The parish is in need of more prayer books in our Chapel and Sunday School rooms and we hope that you will consider giving a prayer book as a memorial or in thanksgiving. A purchase of a prayer book is a wonderful memorial gift and we can write a memorial inscription inside the book. The cost for a prayer book is $25. If you would like to donate a prayer book please send a check to the Parish Office with your memorial information.
YOUR Prayers are Needed

If you believe in the power of prayer you are invited to join the Wednesday morning prayer group. This ministry is open to men and women, young and old. All that is required is that you keep all prayer requests confidential. A prayer request is a sacred trust and names of those prayed for should not be revealed, even with good intentions.

The Wednesday morning prayer group meets every Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the parlor. Those who gather read prayers from the Book of Common Prayer and lift up the names of individuals on the prayer list. After the prayer session some of those in attendance stay for the Wednesday morning healing service at 11:30 in the Chapel, but this decision is optional.

We pray YOU will consider joining this important ministry!

Children's Offering Update

Each Sunday Trinity's kids take up their own special offering from the other kids - and some "big kids" at heart. They alternate monthly between InReach projects for our church and outreach projects for our community.

In June the children collected $338.35 which will allow them to sponsor a game night at our upcoming Parish Retreat this August. During July the children's offering will support the purchase of backpacks and other school supplies for our annual school supply drive.

Be sure to provide chances for your kids or grandchildren to earn a few bucks during the week so they can proudly give back. Thank you for your dedication and continued support of this ministry!
Follow Us on Instagram!
Do you have an itchy shutter finger? We do, too! If you are on Instagram check out the hashtag #trinityepiscolga . Folks like Fr. Tim (@tgdaddy) and his wife Deana (@deanamg) along with others on Trinity's staff find plenty of photo inspiration around the church. If you take a picture on your smartphone or tablet while you're at the church (or a church function away from church!) and are on Instagram, be sure to tag the photo with the hashtag shown above. Don't have that app installed but still want to see the cool photos? Click here to see what folks are snapping pictures of around Trinity!
Flower Memorials & Thanksgivings
Our Flower Guild is dedicated to glorifying God's beauty each Sunday and throughout the week by preparing our altar flowers and greenery. The ladies on our four alternating teams work very hard at arranging the flowers and greenery and they do it with such care. They are truly a blessed and talented bunch making the most creative and simply stunning arrangements.

If you would like to provide flowers on a Sunday as a memorial for someone or in thanksgiving, please contact Sally Walden at (706) 327-7212 or email her here for information on pricing per altar and dates available.

Interested in joining the talented team of ladies on the Flower Guild? Call Joan Redmond at (706) 575-6689 or email her here. You may also call Martha Davis at (706) 329-5037 or email her here
