Hello, July! Although June was a dozy with torrential downpours and scorching, humid days, summer has finally arrived. Even the rain couldn't wash away a busy month with ribbon cuttings from Meineke, Brookdale, and File 13. We wrapped up the month with a successful "Lunch & Learn" marketing workshop, our commitment to assist with growing your business. As we move into July, be sure to stay current with upcoming events by following us on Facebook: Union County Chamber of Commerce, Union County Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Team Marysville all have pages filled with community news and announcements. Please "like" and "share." July starts off with with a bang with parades, fireworks, family picnics and summer fun. We're excited to celebrate another busy month. Have a safe and Happy July 4th weekend! Adisyn Grace (my granddaughter) Tina Knotts,
Chamber & Tourism Director

New Website Launched for Uptown Marysville
Team Marysville, a division of the Union County Economic Development Partnership, recently announced the launch of its website,
www.VisitUptown.org. The new site allows for easy navigation from mobile devices and encourages residents and visitors to explore Marysville's historic Uptown District for business and leisure opportunities.
What has been described as "a portal to everything Uptown," the website contains useful information about the Uptown District, including merchants, restaurants, and attractions. It also provides a comprehensive listing of Uptown events, parking locations, and available properties.
Spurred from the recent increase of visitors to the Uptown District, the overall purpose of the website is to not only inform and assist visitors, but also promote the desirability of the Uptown District as a prime business and residential location to prospective investors.

Ohio University
Dublin Integrated Education Center
In May, Ohio University opened its new 86,000-square-foot Integrated Education Center in Dublin with the College of Health Sciences and Professions as the anchor. This building houses Ohio University programs from the various colleges/schools and facilitate academic partnerships with Columbus State Community College and other Central Ohio colleges, universities, and high schools. Eventually, several thousand students will take classes in the new building. The new facility includes a state-of-the-art auditorium that seats 130 students and is suitable for distance learning, specialized facilities for a Physician Assistant Program, laboratories, and multi-sized classrooms, conference rooms and break-out rooms that can accommodate a variety of programs. The auditorium and other classrooms are also available for use by organizations and agencies with a need for meeting or training space.
Dr. Randy Leite is dean of the College of Health Sciences and Professions (CHSP), joining Ohio University in 2008 as the associate dean for academic affairs in the College of Health and Human Services. With Leite at the helm, the college has grown to more than 9,000 students enrolled and offers undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs in various health fields including audiology, nursing, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, corporate wellness, dietetics, integrated health studies and social work, to name a few. One of Leite's major initiatives as dean has been the launch of the Dublin Integrated Education Center. Classes are scheduled to start at the Dublin location in late spring 2015 with the Physician Assistant Program. Other programs from CHSP will start in the fall of 2015 and more will be rolled out the following year.
