Your Participation is Requested

Faculty and research staff across Rutgers received an email recently from Michael Gower, senior VP for finance, and Christopher Molloy, senior VP for research and economic development, about an internal survey. "As we review the Rutgers research administration organizations, business processes and systems, we recognize the importance of learning from Rutgers faculty and staff about your firsthand experience and views on these topics," Molloy and Gower wrote. To that end, with support from Huron Consulting, Rutgers is conducting a survey to gather feedback about current research administration operations. The deadline for the survey, which takes 12-15 minutes, is January 31. All responses will remain confidential. Read more here.

Progress Report on RAPSS

Phase one of the new Research Administration and Proposal Submission System (RAPSS) currently is being implemented and user testing is underway. Training sessions are being scheduled for later this month in New Brunswick, Newark and Camden. Based on the Huron Consulting's Click Portal Solution, RAPSS will be rolled out in phases beginning this spring. A team from the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and the Office of Information Technology is working hard to ensure that RAPSS will be up and running as planned to bring its functionality to all of Rutgers (more here). New Site for Posting Your Scholarly Work

Scholarly Open Access at Rutgers (SOAR) is a new online service for faculty, doctoral students and post-docs that has been developed in support of the Rutgers Open Access Policy, which becomes effective September 1. SOAR allows users to post their scholarly work on a university-run site that is crawled by Google and other search engines, making the documents freely accessible to researchers and other readers worldwide. The SOAR website has an extensive FAQ section, custom search function and easy-to-use system for Rutgers researchers to deposit their journal articles and other scholarly works. Read more here.
