Pizza, Pen & Paper Night!
Seniors Finalize College Essays at Unique Writing Session
Special thanks to the many volunteers, faculty and staff who worked one-on-one with our Seniors to finalize their college essays at the annual "Pizza, Pen and Paper" night.  In this final push before sending out applications, Seniors received extra individualized attention to "polish" their essays and personal statements.  In the midst of the rigorous demands of senior year, the soon-to-be graduates found solace in the critiques and good advice they received and are now hard at work in submitting their applications.
First College Acceptances Are In
DBCR Seniors are Officially College-Bound
It's the most wonderful time of the year!  No, it's not Christmas just yet.  But the halls of DBCR are filled with joy and celebration as our first college acceptances are pouring in.  To date, 24 students have been accepted to four-year colleges.  Senior Albert Stancil was the very first, receiving his acceptance letter from UMD-Eastern Shore in October. Now joining him, are 23 young ladies who were accepted to Trinity Washington University during the on-sight interview process.  Stay tuned for more exciting college news as the Class of 2015 sets its sight on every senior being accepted to college.
Rosary Service Ignites Students' Love for Our Lady
As a part of the year-long bicentennial celebration of St. John Bosco's birth, the school community gathered on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary for a beautiful candle-lit prayer service. Planned and led by students, this reflective pause in our daily routine drew parallels from the mysteries to Don Bosco's life and helped us all grow closer to Jesus through meditation with Mary.
Our Lady of the Rosary...pray for us!
Need Breakfast?
Seniors Set Record for
"Cup of Joe"
432 breakfasts.  17 minutes. Immeasurable impact.  Those are the results of DBCR's first "Cup of Joe" project of the year.  The senior class spearheaded this year's efforts to make healthy "breakfast-to-go" bags for the men and women staying in Catholic Charities' overnight emergency shelters.  They set the bar high, but each underclass will have the opportunity throughout the year to partake in the "Cup of Joe" event and see if they can beat the Senior Class record.  For more information on Catholic Charities' Cup of Joe project, click here.
DBCR's Junior Board "Spins" into November
With pictures of the students and granola bars to spur them on, DBCR's Junior Board members recently sold out their spinning challenge at Zengo Cycle and raised more than $1,200 at their spinning fundraiser.  This group of young professionals, dedicated to raising awareness about DBCR's students and programs through volunteering, fundraising, and socializing, is seeking more members to join the fun and spread the word.  Interested?  Email Junior Board President, Seton Easby-Smith, for more information on the Junior Board today!
Homecoming = WOLFPACK SPIRIT!
From whacky sock and tie day, to senior v. staff basketball, to TWO victorious soccer teams, DBCR Homecoming and Spirit Week was packed with fun and Wolfpack pride!
